Talking Heads activity 2025

Forums:

Byrne posted the other day he's got a project he's working on with more information to come and the TH Facebook page has this today:

Chris reposted it and said "can't wait!"

Apparently, June 5th is the 50th anniversary of the band's first official show.

Hmmm

Wow! I hope if they play it's not just a one-off in a far away (East Coast) place

Won't be anything that night as Jerry is in UK with Adrian. I'm preparing myself to be let down again. I think David picking up the suit T the cleaners was the right time but who knows I'm not in the band

I watched an interview last night (from a previous year) and it was clear he had no interest in reforming.  If he does, I'm all in.  Every time I see him I'm blown away.

More Songs SDE has been long announced (February) and the font is 77 (and psycho killer bass) that already got a re release last year

David cracks me up.   Love his old man moves.   Better than mine

Oh and if there is a show and Fish you get your normal front row - I'm in. :)

Haha I'll take that deal!

I am hearing this isn't the big June 5th announcement but I'll believe it when I see it

very underwhelming

I'm thinking that they moved up the announcement due to the speculation. How bout don't tease everything you do and save it for something big

On a bright note, it appears David is announcing fall dates next week

Big Thursday announcement

> it appears David is announcing fall dates next week

Any chatter about what kind of band he might be touring with?

Any dates with David are good dates

this is great news.

Please comeback to the Tampa Theater again, David.

I'd rank the couple most recent DB shows I saw as among the top shows I've seen of all time...

no word on band yet. Supposedly new material coming also

> among the top shows I've seen of all time

The American Utopia show I saw sits high on my list.

I loved the Everything that Happens will Happen Today tour. Great Album. American Utopia was really great too

Agree.  I wish I'd gone twice.   Look forward to seeing the dates.

That was weird

Lol

I liked the bit where she slaps herself in the face, but what's the takeaway here? First world problems will grind you down?

Weird, just the way it should be.

She went to the edge, spit and crawled back, classic

Psyche Killer

2001 Band kicked ass too ( hope that it' was cranked up loud enough for you to hear) Check out the "Grown Backwards"CD or this gem from Conan

But maybe his best band was on this 97' tour. (This show from Red Bank NJ on Halloween starts slow and slinky/creepy but by song #3 the Allstars start poppin' . A must watch for any Dave fan who hasn't seen it) (Be warned Life During Wartime makes me a bad kind of dizzy and is often skipped when I watch it)

Enjoy!

The part of the house, played by the house, was so sublime.

All talk, no head.

Have you read Chris' book?   I don't think there will ever be another full blown reunion.  But David does put on a good show.  Not into "performance art" generally but his show with the marching band and the minimalist stage set up was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  Music was top notch too.
