Rolling Stones

Forums:

One of my all time favorite bands, saw then 28 times, last one was pretty disappointing for me.

For my birthday my son bought me Goat Head Soup album. One of my favorite studio albums. My other 2 are Let It Bleed and Some Girls.

Live albums..No Security.

What ya got?

My favorite is the Brussels Affair... and the surrounding era

studio iim alll over the place... Sticky Fingers(check out 2015 Fonda too) Exile, Steel Wheels(gets a bad rap among "fans" but check out Atlantic City and Tokyo (Almost Hear you Sigh is a top ten song imho) Hackney Diamonds(Depending on You could have been on any of their 70s giants). There's good stuff on all of them imho

Ive seen probably well over a dozen but maybe closer to 20, saw 4 shows last summer, first in 89

(((Sway)))

if you like Some Girls, be sure to get some Texas 78

Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed are the only two I've never gotten sick of listening to

But I only keep albums I can play all the way through anymore with no clunkers

only have seen them once at Levi's Stadium, from the front row. It was 10/10

that Muddy Waters checkerboard lounge show sure does get a lot of miles over here

That's a good one^^

Exile on motherfucking Main Street for me

I'm a man on a mountain....

Dancing to Let it Bleed over and over saw me through the last worst loss I've had. They've got it. Raw Stones.

When Greg died I needed cello music (never before). Different situations.

last shoe I saw was in Lyon France with 2 Zonners and my Boss, the tumbling Dice graphics were enhanced,my personal favorite attended shoe was the Olympia  Theatre Paris 95 best concert I ever went to hands down.. Idk but I like it.

>>>My favorite is the Brussels Affair

Yup

Sticky Fingers & Goats Head Soup are favorites, and I have definitely appreciated the remasters.

The remaster of Exile is pretty fantastic, including the entire extra disc of outtakes.

I would have to put Beggar's Banquet in my top favorites, I love the vibe & song progression of that album.

I pulled out my Sucking in the Seventies lp the other day for the first time in a very long time and and was bummed to find out it had a huge crack right down the middle of it.  I put on Made in the Shade in its place.  Still a great compilation!

Fred lol

Good one, jlp

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!

They were a truly great band, with possibly the best rhythm section in all of rock.

The bombastic nature of everything they did and the understandable focus on Mick Jagger dominated the attention over the years, but IMO it was the unique interplay between Keith, Charlie and Bill Wyman that made them a great band. They lost some of that when Wyman left, but the simpatico between Keith & Charlie always created that one-of-a-kind, hip shaking, shoulder shimmying groove that was uniquely The Rolling Stones.

Now, without Charlie they're still larger than life, the songs are the songs and I think it's fine that they're still out there, but for me they just don't sound like The Rolling Stones anymore.

Paint it Black, you devils ^^^

Coincidentally perhaps but the Stones first US number 1, Satisfaction, was released on this date, 60 years ago
