I wish I was a headlight on a northbound train I'd shine my light through cool Colorado rain! Canada will only detain asylum seekers for 24 hrs then set you free .....they check you out then let you free to seek asylum . All they have to do is cross the border

I know someone w/ a DUI here from 1990 - long expunged from state records. Would it still exist in US records? Don't think it was a felony.

After 9/11 the US border
After 9/11 the US border began hassling Canadians more than ever. Canada responded by checking everyone entering from USA, and created longer traffic jams at the border.
Went to University there in the 80's and it was much easier to drive over the border either direction. Usually they just waved you through (especially if they were having a sandwich).
Occasionally they would see a bunch of college students returning to Canada and look in the trunk for excess booze. Prices were higher in Canada so they knew people would try and bring more than allowed. It was either pay the duty or it got confiscated.

In 1984 we flew ino buffalo and took a cab to wonderland and the kingswood theater for the G/D and the Band . Customs in Canada asked where we were going mind you it was ten oclock at night .We said wonderland they said have a good time and waved us through .We bought a few dusty bottles of cool clear water .We gave it all away for free to the locals .I now have a life long friends from Toronto .The posters and t Shirts for the boys were held at the border and showed up late to the gig . Now on the way back in to the us they searched us ripped the seats out of the cab The cabbie asked me what we did . I nervously laughed and hoped all of my cab mates did not lie about being clean .Now they start telling me they might not let me in because my license is expired. It was revoked for to many points in Nj . I told them born and raised and lived at the time 24 years old my whole life in Nj .Back then I said fuck you I'm going home .They made my cab mates verify me and we put the rear seat back in the cab and headed to the Buffalo airport . Now a days I would be shot or just disapear in the system .There are ton's of places to eaisly croos the border into Canada
