Starting to notice the effects of ICE

Forums:

I went to Rutland, Vermont last week to take a stone carving class and stayed in a nearby Comfort Inn (one of the higher end lodgings in that town).

No housekeeping services at all during your stay due to "staffing issues." (You had to deal with your trash and dirty towels yourself -- which is fine being a single traveler like me on a "work" trip.)

Today I went to the local corporate usually-super busy carwash (in Baltimore) to get the marble dust off the car, since I will occasionally utilize their drive-thru instead of washing it myself.

Not one Hispanic/ Latino worker there -- there used to be dozens swarming over each car. I asked the one black guy "where is everybody?" He laughed and said the guy before me asked the same thing.... "they all got fired last month or stopped showing up."

Strangely enough I didn't see any white teenagers lining up for those jobs.

Oh and also -- I went to one of the few "nicer" restaurants in Rutland and there was no one at the front desk. So I peeked in the dining room and asked "is anyone seating people?" Some lady bussing tables answered me all pissy. Rude enough that I was ready to turn around and leave.

Turns out she was one of the owners and was all bent out of shape because she had to do some of the dirty work herself..... "staffing issues."

Wait til the fruits and veggies aren't at the market - or on your table if you don't grow 'em yourself.

I was thinking it's time for a pic of Noem and ICE guys with the caption "Waste, Fraud, and Abuse."

Americans will soon learn how undocumented workers make this country turn, while they pay into our tax system, including Social Security, which they will never get.

Food court at Costco was empty.

No laborers out front of Home Depot.

Line at the dump was shorter.

Who's cleaning the pools?

I was just reading earlier today that the film A Day Without a Mexican turns 21 this year.

>Who's cleaning the pools?<

slacker and my friend andy.

I was down in Ft. Myers Florida earlier this year and went to the big Latino flea market.  It was a ghost town with most of the stalls shuttered.

A local landscape business owner who proudly flew a giant trump flag last year lost all 3 of his workers. They were quartered in a big rv across the road from me. Nice guys who worked hard all summer with long days, and most likely low pay. Haven't seen his trucks at all this summer.  Dipshit.
