Todd Snider Napa HELP!

Forums:

High guys and gals. Todd is coming to Uptown Theater Napa on Nov 7th.  Venue is ticketbastard venue and fuck them. I don't do tb.

So, my offer is if you live near Napa (It's a long drive for me just to get tix) and want to see Todd, go by the venue and buy two tix for the show. I will pay for both and you can have the second one.

One of the best concerts i ever attended was at the Coronado Theater in Rockford, IL  with Todd Snider opening for John Prine. That was a good time.

Mark, I'm happy to announce you're the winner of the Will-Do-Anything-to-Avoid-Paying-Ticketbastard-Fees contest. Congratulations. Your prize is in the mail, but it's being sent postage due, so you'll need to cough up $24.99 (subject to dynamic pricing) to collect it.

>>>>Todd Snider opening for John Prine.

Yep.  And Todd came out and did the female vocal part for "In Spite of Ourselves."  Todd Snider rules.  Good luck and have a great show.

What a nice offer mark

>>>you're the winner of the Will-Do-Anything-to-Avoid-Paying-Ticketbastard-Fees contest<<<

Well, he's not willing to drive down to the venue to avoid the fees.

But then again, he is willing to spend three times more than the TM fees would be, just to say HA! to evil TicketBastard.

And TicketBastard says, "Ouch. That really hurt."

It's odd that such a small theater doesn't use a smaller ticketing operation that can handle that size regional venue.

So, the venue box office doesn't do phone orders?

Mike and Tom, it has nothing to do with fees. Fees are everywhere. Part of the ticket price.

What I object to is their business strategy. They and Live Nation have butchered the concert scene.

And Tom, I called them back and there are only 2 options.  Walk up and ticketbastard.  But thanks anyway for pointing out what should have been obvious to me.

So the offer is still up.  Anybody???

THIS !!

There was a team from Beaverton Oregon in the LLWS Regionals this yr.

Heard the story about the Beaverton Football Team?

>>>They and Live Nation have butchered the concert scene<<<

How exactly have those two done that?

And understand that for 15+ years I worked for Live Nation, which owns TicketMaster, and for numerous reasons I have zero love for that corporate machine, but I also understand that the "concert scene" is totally different than it was 30/40/50 years ago and that as always we're all looking for simple, easy answers to explain larger, more complex and unavoidable realities that are just a natural part of an evolving world.

The funny thing is, those exact words, "butchering the concert scene" were being said in the late '60s about the evil Bill Graham. Different time, but the same perspective.

So, I ask again, why is a dumpy little regional venue using a huge corporate ticketing service that is built for massive, worldwide daily/hourly/by the minute/by the second sales demands in the hundreds of thousands?

And why is that ticketing service to blame for that?

Maybe you all should boycott the Uptown Theater.

Or maybe you should just go to the show.

He still doesn't get it.

Reportedly, Snider was arrested after he was discharged and refused to leave a SLC Hospital.

The hospital had discharged Snider, but he reportedly did not believe he should have been discharged and began to curse at the staff.

Snider left after being told to by a medical professional, but then reportedly returned and began to make verbal threats to a victim, threatening to beat them up and getting into the face of the victim.

I think he’s out. He’s not on the jail roster or I'd visit him.
