calling all rockhound zoners...

I make a point to eat at as many Basque restaurants in the U.S. as I can find, and Leku Ona is right up there towards the top of my list.

Might want to try the Picon Punch

Rexburg has a bear rehab place that is a drive through park with the bears roaming around. We drove through one time on the way to West Yellowstone, Montana

The Boise River runs right through town, and, as I recall, there are many cool places to access it.

I hear there is good Basque food in Boise. Enjoy your time there.

I missed Bss's post while I was making my breakfast. So, yes.

High judit

it's good enough to be mentioned twice :)

When you go from Boise to Rexburg, consider skipping the interstate and take Hwy 20>Hwy 26 instead.   You will go past the Craters of the Moon National Monument, which is worth a stop.  Bring sturdy shoes and headlamps for the lava tubes,

Another vote for Basque restaurants in Boise!

On a road trip once  I found a good place to camp (super clean shower house and log bunk cabins available for under $100) at this park, just east of Boise, on a river, along the interstate: https://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/state-park/three-island-crossing-st...

 >>Leku Ona

great recommendation

Hi, Bss. I miss seeing you, but you wow me on Viva.

>>>Leku Ona

Had our 4th anniversary dinner there and it was fabulous,

Boise was impressive. Clean and diverse.

For dinner the patio seats afforded a look at the crowds walking by and every nation on earth was represented during the 2 hours.

Outskirts of town they are building the biggest building. Micron semiconductor factory. HUGE

Spent time in Garden City part of town and it felt like Portland Oregon

Great town from what was seen.

That's great to hear!

Thanks for reporting back

sounds like a great trip!!

wife's family gifted us a pop up camper in Boise

First we took it to the Teton River valley east of Driggs Idaho west of the Totons

Then we parked in a friends yard on the other side of the Tetons

If your ever near Jackson Wyoming I highly recommend the rooftop at Dornans^^ near the entrance to Grand Teton Nation Park

As far a Jackson, it's a zoo of tourism and traffic. Not sure I could live in a town that busy with tourists

next stop Dinosaur National Monument
