50th anniversary SGT Pepper to include Strawbery Fields and Penny Lane

Total tourist

I didn't know they were written for the SPLHCB sessions. I wonder where their intended place on the record was, since it has a distinct 'flow'

almost 90 pages of speculation and conjecture over on SHF about this already. Funny considering this is far from an official announcement....

Lame move, IMHO. So does this mean that every Beatle single that was recorded during an albums creation will soon be included on the corresponding LP? Revisionism and a cash grab. A poor effort to repackage and resell the same product to the same market for the umpteenth time. The Beatles camp and the Dylan camp clearly take 2 totally different approaches, but only one really chooses to honor the true fans wishes.

only one really chooses to honor the true fans wishes.

I like this, so I guess I am not a true fan.

John also "intended" for Adolf Hitler to appear on the cover. Will we be "adding" him into the cover shot as well?

Repackaging to get the suckers to buy it.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Saw Sir George Martin do a lecture at the Birchmere in Feb 1999.

He did say his biggest regret was that Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane were not included on Sgt Pepper.

From same trip. The two hour cab tour hits all the spots, great if you are short on time. We only had 21 hours in Liverpool.
