Hey Skifurthur, thought you might get a kick outta this

Forums:

Someone posted this on FB in a group I'm part of called "How well do you remember Jackson, the old days" for Jackson, NJ. This place is only about 5 minutes from where I live & now closed. The guy who posted it said it was part of the tour in support of The Wild, The Innocent & the E Street Shuffle album. Pretty funny in spite of the misspelling.

Here's a pic of the Rova Farm Bar & Restaurant where the show was.

They made a nice burgers & borscht.

I wonder if he did Jungleland ? They do have all those run away zoo animals running around. wink

Back When Life Was Way COOL !

They made a nice burgers & borscht.

Unlimited burgers and borscht!

Chuck, my brother in law lives up the road from rova farms.

I like the Russian Orthodox churches

Bart, I'd be more concerned about black bears.

I grew up in that area. I remember all the weekend traffic from Jungle Habitat when it first opened. Northern NJ was a trip growing up as a kid.

They used to (maybe still ?) have a pretty good flea-market there at Rova on weekends.  I've actually attended a service in that Onion-domed  church, complete with dead-language babbling and thick stinky incense.  Might have been Easter.

The pizzeria right at the traffic light, next to the quick-e-mart has exceptional slices.

I hear ya on the Russian Orthodox churches Tom. Beautiful!  That one you posted is the one right next door to where the show was!

Stu, yes the Rova Farms flea market is still around. Open I believe Tuesdays Thursdays. And you can still get a good slice at the pizzeria. Funny, that place was where we'd get lunch when we skipped school. I'm almost positive it's been family owned as long as it's been there.

Anyway, don't wanna ramble too much. Just a small piece of my hometown   smiley

Yep,  the blue dome church is a bit further up 571. My brother in law lives on old freehold Rd and my mechanic lives on Reed Rd. After we lost the house to Sandy, we stayed in a campground on 537.

Chuck, did you grow up in Jackson? My father in law taught at Jackson high school.

Yep, been in Jackson my whole life Tom. Due to my mother's health issue the last 10 years, I've actually been living in the same house where I grew up. As with most Jersey towns, sadly, it's not the town I grew up in. Way overdeveloped. Most of my old party spots in the woods are backyards now. Even my favorite bass pond is still there, but they built a development around it & put up a fence with a no fishing sign. Shame.

Yeah, Jackson kind of became a haven after Sandy. There are quite a few campgrounds. They're really about the only areas of dense woods anymore.

Glad to hear the Rova flea market still rocks.  That bar was pretty rockin' in its day; went under due to mismanagement or 'other stuff'.

Anyway, that Pizzeria really produces a Super-Excellent slice. Perfect blend of crust, sauce & cheese.  I have been to almost every single Pizzeria within a 25 mile radius, so a Disco Stu rating of "Eleven" on a 1-10 scale is considered pure Gold wink
