Who Knew John Elway was such a hypocrite?

"...when Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall knelt for the national anthem last season, his No. 54 jersey was torched outside Mile High Stadium. He was one of many players who took on political issues in the last year that were punished for it.

So when Elway sent a letter of recommendation recently on behalf of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch on company letterhead with the Broncos team logo, he used the team, their colors, and their place in popular culture to advocate for politics. He used his celebrity and the team he works for to influence the appointment of a Supreme Court justice who will determine how laws are interpreted.

So why is it OK for teams and executives to advocate for issues but not for their players to do the same?"

there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over...

roll thread

They have a fuckload of money. That's why. They can do whatever the fuck they want and all you can do bitch, complain and take it.

and you will love it....

>>there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over...

Exactly, Hall. What Elway did is worse - yet he will not get punished.

Do you really not know the answer to the question?

I knew.

Elway has always been an asshole. A very, very rich asshole.

What Ned said.

Who cares what that horseface thinks?

John Elway is a golden god among men.

The rules don't apply to him.

Mark, will you offer up the child for the Romo trade?

Elway is a member of  the NWO.  Him and the Rothchilds .

A blood sacrifice could probably be arranged, Ned; but I'd strongly prefer Aaron Rodgers.

If that's ever on the table, I'm open to discussion.

I'd also like to add:

hOww daRre YOU BESMIRCHIFY THE gooDd name of HaLl oh FaMEe quarterbacks Teh John Elway, SixxxxYy!!!!!!!!! SCUMBAG MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

Another reason to hate the Broncos.

In the sports way, people!

Did Elway punish Marshall?  No, he didn't.  The fans voiced their displeasure with his actions, and they are free to do so with Elway as well.  Elway isn't responsible for how the fans react to a players actions or his own.

But what this idiotic column really shows is that modern day sports writers are just frustrated leftists who now use their jobs as sports writers to advertise their political beliefs.  Virtue signaling at its worst.

Shut the f*#k up and write about sports.  If you want to be a political commentator, get another job.

The Broncos have a place in popular culture?

As for the thread topic, I couldn't care less as long as they beat the Raiders.

I was with Thom until I got to his second paragraph.

It would have been a good post if he had just quit while he was ahead.

((( frustrated leftists )))

Thom...you need some new lenses, filters, etc. Maybe some Xanax.

Big Big Idol With A Golden Head

You know why the Broncos cut Tebow?

He was a lefty.............

Chef Bill actually forwarded this article to me earlier this morning.

He suggested that Elway's teeth were actually carved from the skulls of liberal babies.

anyone remember the horseface thread on the old zone?  one of my favorites...

>Thom...you need some new lenses, filters, etc. Maybe some Xanax.<

#changeyourstrain

One guys white and one guys black for $300 chuck

Politics has crept into every institution in America. Sadly!

>>>>Sadly!

where is your Nunes thread?

Sweet troll thread, Six. All it takes is a chunk of irresistible bait.

Six is well-known to be a VLZ troll.

Dude really has no shame.

Among other things

Shut the f*#k up and write about sports ( Phil Resh ).  If you want to be a political commentator, get another job.

like taxpayer paid,  research LIEbrarian?

predictable is as predictable does

Fool

take the "F"  replace it with "T"

Of all the groups frustrated leftists have infiltrated sports writers are pretty far down my list.

How about Big Donnie Trump commenting on Kaepernick?  Pretty much handed him a blue-ribbon collusion lawsuit.

Now that there is a left wing sports spin.

> Dude really has no shame.

Some would say that that's the key to successful zoning.

Now that Elway saw an orange celebrity take office, I don't know whats stopping him from running in the next ten years.

So ned, what's your position on Bill McCartney and the "Promise Keepers"?

Have you ingrates forgotten the 'helicopter play' from Super Bowl XXXll? Have you?!?

Have you forgotten Elway hoisting the Lombardi Trophy high above his head in triumph, and declaring through his gleaming, basically perfect teeth "Derrrrr I wons da Super Bowl! Derrrrrr!"?

I hope not. I really do. Because goddamnit, that was fucking glorious, my friends. That was special; and no flagrantat abuse of position and power will ever change that.

John Elway is a god. Bow before his greatness you peasants. Bow!

Every time John Elway smiles

I'm reminded to stain my deck. Horse teeth!

Other than the fact that John Elway and I share the same exact birthday - month, day, year - this is what I always remember about John Elway...

I wet my pants a little every time Thom types 'lleftists'.

>> So ned, what's your position on Bill McCartney and the "Promise Keepers"?

I think God stole him from CU, and a handful of additional National Championships.

<<<Shut the f*#k up and write about sports.  If you want to be a political commentator, get another job

Librarian tells writer to stay in his lane over politics.

Classic.

Yeah, but can God actually "steal" anything?

Ask the Falcon fans, 19.5.

Besides ranchero burritos,  Denver doesn't really have much else.

>>>>> Denver doesn't really have much else.

Fun Hoover fact.

I made hundreds of the ceramic serving dishes, coffee mugs, etc used by the trendy breakfast spot Snooze in Denver

The majestic natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains is so meh.

At least it isn't raining, JR.

>>>> Yeah, but can God actually "steal" anything?

>> Ask the Falcon fans, 19.5.

Brady might as well be God, when it comes to football.

You guys remember that time Seattle won the Super Bowl and everybody in the PNW became a really huge fan?

People in San Diego were suddenly Seahawk fans after that

I once drank moonshine and got blacked out drunk at Chief Hosa campground. That was the same night I watched two wooks snort ketamine and then proceed to fuck on the hood of my rental car.

Yep, like all the GS Warrior fans now. Except Stever...he's a life'r.

It would be so much easier to hate on the Seahawks if Russell Wilson wasn't the nicest guy in the NFL.

>>>>Yep, like all the GS Warrior fans now.

I've never followed basketball but I currently have a GS Warriors lighter.  It was the only option at the local grocery store and I had a dead lighter and a fresh bag of herb.

I miss Stever.

His flame out during the Finals last year was one of the late-period highlights of the original Zone, I think.
