Pepsi Ad

Forums:

I can never tell if they do these things on purpose or not. Anyway they have already pulled the ad. The model is apparently Kendal Jenner

Here is a round up of the reaction

EVERYTHING in advertising is completely on purpose...

I don't get the outrage. Is it that much different than that classic "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" ad? It's thematically pretty similar.

The outrage is over your melt with Big Jonny. Say you're sorry, BKoook. He might buy you a Pepsi if you apologize for your outbursts.

Meh. Didn't make me want to buy a Pepsi.  Maybe because I am not young.

I can never tell if they do these things on purpose or not.

If they do what things? This ad doesn't make much sense to me.

I think I understand the ad. Unity was occurring. The cop was scared and looked angry. A hot model gave him a Pepsi. He was scared no longer. True unity was achieved.

I watched it again using your explanation as a foundation from which to watch; that helped, thanks, Brian. It seems to me that Pepsi minimized everything that might be important in this ad.

Wow.

We can all bond and heal, cheer like your team won the super bowl, if Miss Jenner shakes off those shackles that bind her (gross advertising, since her fee was prolly most of Pepsi's budget) by handing an officer a Pepsi. Easy Peasy.

Maybe Trump can go to North Korea and offer him a Pepsi for World Peace. Or Coca Cola, whatever works. Offer Putin a six pack?

It's just an ad for a can of sweetened water.

Neither one - the ad or the can of crap - is on my radar,

this surf.... and it is psychological warfare.....

Putin's got a six pack.

Trump, not so much.

It's a cloying mashup of several iconic photos of real protestors, like this one and the photo aiq posted. Unlike the pollyanna ending of the Pepsi commercial, the woman in this photo was arrested, .
