Well, alcohol injections really...In my foot. I have Morton's neuroma, and today I had the second of a series of 4 injections. Trying to numb or kill the nerve. Surgery is the next step. (Pun intended)
i had the surgury.. it was a longish recovery, but i am totally active on my feet.... no issues at all. ski boots, hiking long days... no prpbs... i hear the shots are temp fix.
I haven't tried a chiropractor, Judit. But I did try the inserts, Slick, no luck.
Jon, how long is a longish recovery? The cortisone shots provided temporary relief, and I'm not all that confident about the alcohol shots. My insurance required me to try the shots first. If the shots are unsuccessful, the insurance will cover the surgery.
well, my doc said 6 weeks.... 2 weeks on crutches..... im really active so i chose to do the cut in may, inbetween ski and hike season.....
my 2 weeks on crutches was fine, but it was 3 months until i went for a real hike, and while i could ski the next year, it did take a full year for all of the foot to completely recover..... it was just lingering swelling....
none the less.... totally worth it... i used to get 10 miles out on a hike and start to have a severe pain meltdown, and it was so bad..... so for me it was worth it... best of luck!

Thanks, right about now I can walk a smooth, flat surface for about 10 steps without pain, at a mile I need to sit down. I've modified my gait, and often walk on the side of my foot.

and this is causing your whole body to deform, the muscles screaming, and your knees, hips and shoulders to compensate... causing damage, and the need for future adjustments and help....

I don't know if you've explored it, but some chiropractors can successfully treat Morton's neuroma. Sorry you're having to deal with it. Good luck.

I got runner's shoe inserts at REI and they helped tremendously. $40-45. Fixed it.
My MN may have been less severe than yours.

Good luck with this, Truck.
Last week I had an Arthroscopic surgery to remove a torn meniscus.
Pretty smooth surgery and recovery so far. Very easy.
They gave me a big shot of dilaudid fo the road. I must admit it was quite enjoyable.
