My new obsession.

Pig on Lovelight.

Lololol boy I love him.  Hysterical. Psychedelic comedy.

broke out 5-24-72 Lyceum last night - final Pig Lovelight.

Only 12 mins but a very strong version .

I like the April 1971 north east tour. On April,13th they play a  Catholic Youth Center. Pig Pen rips out an epic Hard to Handle...lol

The Princeton "Lovelight" on 4-17-71 is considered a classic version by many.

Definitely a staple of my early tape collection.

I seem to recall Phil saying in an interview that if you wanted to hear Pig at his best 4/17/71 Dillon Gym in Princeton is a good choice.

Pig was alive when I heard them live first, 11/11/71, but he was not in attendance. If you listen to the show Weir mentions that he is fine and back home getting better.

I enjoyed Pig's sections, preferred the Hammond to the the small combo, and dug his greasy harp tone.

Often wondered how he would have fit in had he lived and if a solo recording would have surfaced.

Now and always

Would have been sweet

Bucky’s Tune/Buckey’s Theme (instrumental w/ fiddle & pedal steel, not available online?)

Possibly a session for a proposed Pigpen solo album. Pigpen & Weir sing I’m A Loving Man; John Tenney, fiddle; Dennis Parker, bass; Scott Morris, drums; Garcia, pedal steel.
