Do any of you use this service? Is the food good? Portion sizes okay? Price doesn't seem bad. I like to cook so don't mind theextra prep work which I've heard is a complaint from some people.. Recommend something else instead? Can you tell them you don't eat certain foods or would pay up for shellfish if that's an option. Appreciate any input.

I have heard the portions are
I have heard the portions are a tad bit small but the food and recipes are good.
Seems like the thing if you need new recipes and ideas it might be the thing to do for a month to get ideas and then just go shop for what you need.
I"m fairly picky about the quality of my vegetables so I've been hesitant to do it. But considering how crazy our life is, it probably makes a lot of sense to go for it.

We did Blue Apron for a few
We did Blue Apron for a few months. If you allow 2X more time than their recipes spec, we did pretty well. It saved a lot of time in grocery shopping, and it was pretty convenient. Food quality was very good. We kept some of the recipes, and use them with food purchased through normal sources. Now that my wife is working again, we're thinking of trying Hello Fresh.

To me, it sounds kinda crazy.
To me, it sounds kinda crazy. After shopping for ourselves for 50 years, we're gonna let someone else decide how much we need of whatever? I never use recipes except for baking and to get ideas. How do you get fresh if it's only once a week? I don't want my veggies refrigerated if not nec. Recipes appear only once a year - wtf?
I guess it's better than junk food.

If I was the type to plan out
If I was the type to plan out meals for the week I'd choose grocery delivery. With the meal services you would still need to shop for shit paper and other essentials, so stopping by the produce aisle isn't a biggie if I'm in the store already.
