Boulder DeadCo

Forums:

Heading out for the Boulder DeadCo shows with some friends and was wondering if any area Zoners might have suggestions for pre and post show fun. Will be staying right in Boulder and will have a car. Appreciate the input - thanks!

Circles Around the Sun at the Fox post-show.

Village Coffee Shoppe for greasy spoons.

LSD for tonight performance

Pre-show fun :

Go to Eldorado Canyon State Park. Just a couple of miles south of Boulder. There is also an old cold spring swimming pool in the town of Eldorado. Very refreshing.

If you have half a day, drive up Boulder Canyon to Nederland, ride the Carousel of Happiness then drive north to Brainard Lake. Spectacular views.

Hey, now!  Long time zoner friends.  I'm flying in to visit my brother and hitting both shows...(((custie style)))

Hope to see some of the CO crew.  Who's turn is it to watch Nick?

Thank you!

Always try to have lunch at Efraims (Mexican) or Taj (Indian buffet) when I'm seeing shows nearby.

Walk to the show. Party on the Hill afters. Walk home.

I heard prices were cut in half.

Deadheads, in part because Red Rocks was the perfect venue for the trippy jams of the Grateful Dead. The Colorado Music Hall of Fame will honor the iconic band at a VIP reception on Saturday, June 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the South Stadium Club at Folsom Field in Boulder. Colorado Getaway: The History of the Grateful Dead in the High Country includes a panel with original Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, and will precede a performance by Dead and Company at Folsom Field at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, $420, include the reception and general admission to the show; get yours and more information at cmhof.org.

Bonjour from France set list any one? Is it break time?

Thanôks noodle looks hot

good looking first set

I'm having a hard time watching:

Bobby is reading his teleprompter for Eyes, Mickey is chewing gum looking bored to death, Billy acts like his sticks have weights attached, Mayer twists around making faces like my overamped 6 year old nephew in the toy store  (instead of cascading golden raindrops he plays like a squirting garden hose that got loose), Oteil  is in his own little Gumby world having fun, and  Chementi seems to be his regular self holding it all together. It might be GD songs and all the trappings, but it's not GD music at this point, comparatively speaking. And the giant videos of the band behind the band is very 80s MTV -- I much prefer the more subtle lights or liquid-like projections of old.

But when I shut off the video and listen thru headphones, it still makes me smile to hear Weir playing his stuff in this Grateful Dead cover band in this day and age. I guess that's all that counts.

Glad I'm on the couch here at home and sure the crowd is having a good time. Nothin wrong with a party.

That tall dude should sit down.lol

Kid by me last night was gushing about how awesome it was and he said "Bobby is my generation's Jerry." I liked the sentiment.

Let it Grow through Morning Dew was really good. Oteil's bass solo in Eyes was interesting and showed how different from Phil yet musically capable he is.

St Stephen was rocking until the train went off the rails.

Ripple at the end of the first set was a big surprise.

<<<Bobby is my generation's Jerry.

Makes sense for a generation whose Reagan is Trump.

Oooof.

Damn, Mayo's not lookin' too good.

Looks like he contracted the crazy old man beard virus from Bobby.

Deal was rocking and then it came to a screeching halt.

This band sounds good at times but they still dont have that smooth transition thing down, when going from one song into the next.

Morning Dew was great.

Any Grabs?

Listened to some of the Mixlr stream.

Some nice stuff in the 2nd set.

Light show looks awesome!
