Your favorite side bands

Forums:

Emmitt Nershi Band was fun to see a few years back. Lived the little venues they played.

Do you have a favorite side band that played smaller venues when they weren't touring amphitheaters or stadiums?

the jerry garcia band

What were the smallest venues JGB played after '89?

Kingfish

DNB

I always like a side of Hot Tuna, Kingfish Ceviche, Moby Grape Salad with the Cranberries, a Lovin' Spoonful of Blackeyed Peas, covered with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Salt n Peppa, and other Spice Girls, served with Korn Cake, and Smashing Pumkins for dessert.  Or if you prefer, Meatloaf, Bread, some fresh Cream, Peaches and herb, and Humble Pie...   (Flying Burrito Brothers and Country Joe & the fish available by request)

Acoustic Feat.

The Fred Tackett/ Paul Barrere show (I believe it was the first of an early/late gig) I caught at some small sit down club in Schenectady NY in the late 90s was pretty killer. Got to shake their hands and thank them as they had to walk right past the table my buddies and I were at after their set.

Right on, Across.

Bob and Rob did it for me too.

Acoustic Black Crowes

The 2006 CR/RR "Brothers of A Feather" tour (horrible tour name) was another great side band show I caught. I saw the last of the acoustic bros 2006 shows (a few months after the BOF tour) at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO. This was a free ticket only show gained from buying a ticket for the Crowes summer 2006 shed tour with Robert Randolph/Drive By Truckers. Lotta rarities and killer covers at the time for this BC fan (Courtesy of crowesbase.com):
