I think that falls under obsessive/compulsive. I do the same things... a lot of weird counting... it can get exhausting.
Random Fact:
I've been playing guitar for 7 years and it makes me very happy. Just started to learn the keys.
Interesting story about the stigmata. I was in a migrant labor camp for blueberry harvest in Maine. During a long break In the heat of the day we gathered in a migrants cabin on the edge of the field to discuss politics and religion and all the other things you talked about when you're drinking coffee with a bunch of fruit tramps. Next thing I know we're not making any money because we're paid by the piece, the bushel. I had had enough of the religious talk so I told the group I'm going out and I'm going to rake with the power of Jesus Christ. So I put on my Walkman put in my favorite Grateful Dead tape and I bent over in that field and got to work. And much to my surprise it was at the exact moment during unbroken chain when the lyrics sing drive you out or is it ride you out to a cold Railroad and nail you to a cross that I lost control of my rake and it mysteriously swung around and stab me in the wrist. I began to bleed. Not to mention I was pretty freaking freaked out.
My brother and I once discussed what it might feel like if a drug was available that made you feel exactly like you do when you sneeze but last for minutes in stead of a second. I think one's head would explode...

Maybe a little different, but I can actually make the "lead up" to the sneeze last / or waver by looking at the sun or bright light. Although, the goal in looking at the sun is to provoke a sneeze ... but sometimes it doesn't work right away. Have found it interesting how some people can't do this or have never heard of it.
Yes sunlight for sneezes!..........Or by pressing my fingernails lightly into my forehead..........The things we learn when we are young -> maybe can predict our propensity to want to alter our consciousness later in life????

When we measure coffee, we tend to measure by volume rather than weight. As such, a scoop of dark roast has less weight than lighter roast, and therefore less coffee. It's for this reason only that dark roast has less caffeine. It would be exactly the same, if not a bit more, if measured by weight.
On hot summer days on my way home from work, I like to aim for and drive over strips of tar bubbles. The popping sound is very satisfying, plus I get a free gallon of gas and a gram of hash for every bubble popped. Fuck off, reality!
For my talent portion in college, I'd wager the newbs I could drink a beer standing on my head without spilling a drop. And the money rolled in by the bale.

Not sure about your last question, but curious about where on your forehead you press your fingernails? Do you look into the light at the same time?
yesterday, while totally sober, I somehow managed to slice my index/miracle finger deeply enough to require stitches... and I did it with one of those tiny 'mini' swiss army knives.
When you are approaching a lane closure on an interstate (2 lanes down to 1 most typically), and there's a long line of folks already merged into the open lane, folks will inevitably get pissed at the presumably impatient drivers (most of whom have NY, NJ, or CT license plates LOL - yes CT that's me) who pass by the line of crawling already-merged traffic all the way down to the actual lane ending. In fact, many truckers will block off the open lane for miles back from the actual closure.
But in reality, from a traffic engineering/ management standpoint, those impatient interlopers are technically correct; Merging at the point of lane closure (or shortly before) is actually way more efficient as it reduces the overall length of the delay. Ie, if the 1 lane condition is backed up a mile or 2 or more previous to the closure, then everyone is thus traveling slowly for that much more of a distance. Pure logic.

I was on the committee that approved the funding structure for the construction of the new stadiums for the Yankees and Mets. The difference in the presentations by the two teams was about as you would expect. Randy Levine was as bombastic in real life as he played in front of the cameras. Walked around and shook every member's hand with a "thank you!" and then made a Costanza like exit, leaving the Mets' representative to follow up lol.
Don't get on me for the design of either, I just approved the funding structure lol
To those discussing sneezes and sneezing, for the longest time I used to sneeze in "groups of 5." Five quick sneezes in succession. Then one day 4-5 years ago, it went to 7 and it's been like that ever since. Don't know if it's a mental thing or not, but sometimes it can get annoying. Seven is a long enough amount of time and a jarring enough experience for most folks (think sideways glance and a "wtf is going on right now!?" type look on their face) that I have to walk away a few steps when I feel it coming on. I usually then get someone asking if everything is okay over there...
For my entire life I had a very vivid dream in which the setting changed but always ended with me witnessing a plane crash. One of those dreams that you wake up unsettled from. The crash was always a full size jumbo jet and I was never on the plane but the crash was always nearby, sometimes buildings sometimes water but always nearby.I probably had this dream from about 6 years old onwards and about 4 times per year, every year. While I never had a dream of the WTC/9/11 scenario, I have not had the dream since 9/11. Stopped completely
Currently at the level of 5 or 6 sneezes that occur in rapid succession about 15 minutes after waking. Every. Day. Every fucking day.
Recently had heavy antibiotics after my cat mauled me trying to get her back inside while needing to leave for a trip. Repopulated my gut with kimchee, keffir, and kombucha.
After 60 years of IBS sweaty cold shakes and miserable gut health (It was normal for me all my life), I'm flabbergasted at what normal good gut and intestinal health is. I went from disgusted to impressed within a week! Wow! I now know what people are talking about when they "had a good shit"!!
i prefer numbers to be prime...so volume levels, number of twists on a pepper grinder, you name it and I'll count it and i do my damdest to end on a prime number...
here's something that few people know about me - when i moved away from Long island in 1981 at the age of 14 i drove my bike around in the middle of the night before i left and blew out windows and cut the air stems on the tires of everyone that fucked with me while i was in Jr high and freshman year of HS.

Really.

I wish I could influence the weather, I would've made it -40 with a solid F5 tornado as a first on inauguration day. Damn forecasters ;)

>>>I have a weird thing with numbers...<<<
i prefer numbers to be prime...so volume levels, number of twists on a pepper grinder, you name it and I'll count it and i do my damdest to end on a prime number...
here's something that few people know about me - when i moved away from Long island in 1981 at the age of 14 i drove my bike around in the middle of the night before i left and blew out windows and cut the air stems on the tires of everyone that fucked with me while i was in Jr high and freshman year of HS.
