Millennials

strange.

They thrive in mediocrity.  Don't judge:)

They treat you like family.

Do you guys make the authentic dago wop food at home or do you go to an authentic goombah greaseball restaurant ?

Somebody's prejudiced to Italians, Slacker. Really inappropriate.

millennials/italians/olive garden treat you like family?

Didn't Les Claypool call Trey Anastasio the "crimson dago" during the Oysterhead days?

No self respecting Dago Wop Guido Greaseball would EVER be caught DEAD eating @ Olive Garden.  Carraba's, Bertucci's, maybe . . .

& yeah, I can make far superior fare @ home of anything on an Olive Garden menu.  Some things are very labor intensive so I'd rarely make them (Lasagne, stuffed shells, etc).

I've switched from hot sausage back to sweet italian sausage in my Lasagna...

I made some gnocchi today

Slacker cleans the pools of Millennials who eat at Olive Garden. They feed him avocado toast.

Streetvan loved the place

'Nuff said.

Never been a fan of Gnocci.  I like my pasta Al Dente & that's basically impossible to do w/Gnocci w/o the stuffing being undercooked.

Not a fan of pasta in soup either, for very same reason.  Orzo or rice or whatever-that-middle-eastern-grain-is-I-can't-think-of-the-name-of-is for me.

there's a restaurant in collingswood nj called zeppoli. chef makes a gnocchi that is so incredible. it's like soft italian pillows of joy served w/ a brown butter sage sauce. highly recommended for any in the area.

one of the three best italian restaurants in philly area. phenomenal.

gnocchi doesn't have filling, sideshow. you can stop commenting now but probably won't.

>>>gnocchi doesn't have filling

what is it?

ask a wop dago, socal bro.

Gnocchi is basically potato/flour dumplings, no filling.

OK I was wrong it's dough or potato w/cheese but not pasta, nonetheless very thick & they tend to be mushy on the outside & still crumbly/ uncooked on the inside.

There are some that are stuffed tho, can't remember the name . . .

>>>>>>> there's a restaurant in collingswood nj called zeppoli

I think Lyn has mentioned this place before, will ask her . . .

it's a dough, boiled like pasta. it's not filled like say manacotti or ravioli or tortelli. rather, the ingredients are worked into the dough. there's different types of gnocchi too.

Pretty sure there are small pasta's w/ various fillings that are the same size/shape as Gnocci but are called something else, I got them confused.

god damn, love all the different types of italian food.

now i want some gelato (just ate dinner).

have any millennials even commented on whatever this thread is about?

Is that the ice cream in expresso thang?

i'm a millennial.

i don't eat at olive garden. toast is old news. i spend a lot of my money on coffee.

i love lsd.

I was in an Olive Garden a few years ago,  just to visit the restroom.  I did wander by the steam table / buffet setup.  The pasta had a ghastly pallor and the sauces reeked of yesteryear's freezer burn.

Many enjoy the place, I'm sure.  But in middle Jerseyland,  I'm surrounded by pretty good -> Excellent Italian places of all types.  So there's no reason for me to ever eat at 'OliveGarden' unless Hüsky's TV commercial Empire takes H.I.M.  there.

To my best recollection, the restroom was adequate.  Maybe they had paper towels instead of air-dryers,  which is always nice.

Goony Goo Hoo

I have never had a meal at Sodium Garden, but if millennials like it, well...maybe I should give it a chance?

I suppose that if you're up in Saskatchewan or Rutland, 'Olive Garden'  might be a good choice for Italian-ish food.

Sort of liek,  'Domino's'  or 'Pizza Hut'  if you are in Iceland or Fiji and there's no actual Pizza joints.

In Jerseyland one can choose between nicer 'tablecloth'  Italian places with $25 -> $50 plates or 'hybrids' with a brisk take-out Biz and casual dining at tables with a nice selection of typical Italian meals.  The latter will have very tasty Pasta dishes,  Vitello or Chicken,  Strombolis & Cannolis,  Subs or Pizza of all types for a family-oriented price.

^ That place has my favorite Calamari & Cheese Steaks anywhere in a 13 mile radius,  but offers (tablecloth) fancy entreés of  Free-Range Boar with Quail Testicles, and a very nice Wine list.  They do a brisk take-out / delivery biz  and pack the tables on Weekends.  Check their menu, it's quite nice.

I guess ageism is the last resort of the bigot. Can't put down folks anymore for their color, ethnicity, sexuality, or disability.

How about we stop discriminating against people based on the things they have no control over?

OK, rant over. I was at All of Garden once or twice a long time aso - I still remember how salty the food was.

I live in a town in a part of NJ that if your last name doesn't end in a vowel, you're behind the curve.

Our local joint, used to be BYO, now has a license and a wine list, is Que Pasta. Or there's Giovanni's. Or Donnagio's. There is no need for Olive Garden, although there is one over on Route 4.

They have Olive Gardens are on the East Coast?

east coast does has.

Do they have Baja Fresh or Chipotle?

what's a dago?

yup.

also, mcdonald's and burger king, wendy's, taco bell. crazy shit man.

>> I guess ageism is the last resort of the bigot. Can't put down folks anymore for their color, ethnicity, sexuality, or disability.

Bigotry? I thought this was humor.

The South is definitely lacking in good Italian options.

>>>>>crazy shit

What usually ensues several hours after consuming "food" from any of the above.

^haha

I don't get it.

Well there's always Astrology, which makes draws conclusions about people based on their birthday
