It's a bluegrass classic, written by one of the genre's greatest writers Tim O'Brien, and sung by one of the greatest-ever bluegrass groups, Hot Rize, who started in 1978 and are still going today.
Just saw them in early June and they, along with Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers, kicked butt.
Possibly the best set I've seen Phish play included two bluegrass songs, played with acoustic instruments and a guest violinist. They played in front of the microphones, no amplification at all, and it was captivating after screaming electric jamming.
Later in that same set after more searing electric rock an opera singer suddenly walked out to the front of the stage and sang an aria, again in front of the mic's, just her voice in the room, just pure sound. Fucking amazing.
It was right after that when they passed out hundreds of boxes of Flintstones mac & cheese from the stage into the crowd to use as shakers during Possum.
The Line, Waiting all night, Tide turns, More, Bouncing around the room, wading in the velvet sea... These tunes provide an opportunity to hit the head

I caught an unplugged set outside their tour bus in Bloomington 1994.
Reverend Jeff with Trey on fiddle, Mike on banjo, Page on bass, and Fishman on washboard.
Lots of bluegrass and a Midnight Moonlight.
