...Inverse.
If you had just been rescued from a desert island where you had been stranded without music for six months, what's the very first thing you would listen to?
Song, show, record, artist, composer - whatever.
For me, any good 73/74 GD show would be just fine.

Just sit right back
And you'll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip,
That started from this tropic port,
Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
The Skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
For a three hour tour,
A three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough,
But the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Minnow would be lost.
The Minnow would be lost.
The ship set aground on the shore
Of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan,
The Skipper too.
A millionaire and his wife,
A movie star,
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.
(Ending verse)
So this is the tale of our castaways,
They're here for a long, long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.
The first mate and his Skipper, too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable
In the tropic island nest.
No phone, no lights, no motor car,
Not a single luxury
Like Robinson Crusoe
It's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castaways
Here on Gilligan's Isle!

If I didn't end up eating Pizza with Helen Hunt, I'd go with the boys at the Catholic Youth Center, in Scranton Pa, 4/13/71
Waiting 6 months at sea, a great Hard to Handle with Pig Pen would help a little

Any live version of Playin'
Any live version of Playin' in the Band!
I was sent to private High School for my Jr and Sr Years in Connecticut.
Thursday nights we were generally forced to attend live classical music performances that could be anything from Chamber Quartets to small Orchestra's to Classical Guitar.
It was torturous to me - but as a rule - when ever we'd return to the dorm we would CRANK Playin' in the Band - just to get that moldy classical musc out of our ears.

Samuel barber's adagio for
Samuel barber's adagio for strings as I gaze despondently at the island I spent the last 6 months of my life on, and had become convinced was certainly going to b my unmarked grave, shrink smaller and smaller in the distance as the helicopter blades whirl overhead.
I did things on that island to survive, unspeakable things that will most likely cause me to wake up at night screaming in a cold sweat for the rest of my days.
y'all enjoy your Vince era lost sailors though.....

The elusive Vince-era Lost
The elusive Vince-era Lost Sailor.
What the hell did you do to survive in that 6 months? You were on an island surrounded by water and food, and if you lasted that long there had to be potable water. If you went all Donner's Pass, that's on you!
