miss ya man, happy bday!

I had a couple of minutes to check in today, and I see I missed my own bday thread, and with my lack of attendance, I'm surprised I even got one (thanks Judit, hope you're doing OK).

Anyway, I appreciate the well wishes and hope to see yas soon.  Looks like our first show will be King Crimson/Zappa band next week (with Furious E).

Hall YES!

Hey Gary, hope you're doing well.

Concord Pavilion? Where are your seats?

Hey Lance! yes Concord... we're in last row in section 104 with the sound board to our back (so we can get out of our seats without pissing anyone off).  You going??

>>>You going??<<<

Thanks to this thread I think I am going!

When the show was first announced I had something else happening on that date so I didn't add it to my calendar, but your mention of the show got me to check back on the conflict yesterday, and it has gone away!

I've never been a big Concord Pavilion or King Crimson fan, but it's been years since I've seen them and the Pavilion is easy for me (I got "connections" there) so what the hell, no reason not to GTTS!

It would be great to see you & your better half (and E as well). I'll contact you on the day of the show.

Another birthday thread miracle!!!

You're one in pavilion, lance.

happy belated birthday reprise thread, hall.

see y'all in a couple weeks.

It's been so long since I've attended a concert that I've become feral and I make no promises that I won't lose control of my bodily functions (and I mean all of them) on several occasions throughout the performance.

I'll probably b coming from SF after making a shady Craigslist vintage gear deal down by the docks so I imagine that commute on the heels of rush hour will b more of a grim hellscape than the inside of fripp's subconscious.

what's the parking situation like at this hump of the concord?

will this crowd be meat in their tailgating?

The commute to CP is always a pain, even these days with less traffic it will likely suck from just about anywhere.

Parking there is usually not a problem getting in, but especially because the venue is a looong way from any freeway and only one road feeds to it, getting out is often an issue there.

But after looking at the show on TM, at least at the moment it hasn't sold well AT ALL, so it should be pretty comfortable getting in & out.

My recollections are that they frown on tailgating and have staff cruising around to stop it, but since it's their first show and it's not sold well that may not be a big deal, as long as folks aren't firing up........... a grill.

And inside it will most certainly be a meat-in-seat crowd, except for a small group of freaks in front of the mixer.

Security will likely have their eye on those people.

I wonder if KC has finally priced out a portion of their audience, lord knows I can't afford to go back after this at the rate they're going.

maybe a good portion of their audience prefers their meat in their a/c indoor seats and away from variants, delta and otherwise.

Maybe Thursday in concord just ain't crimson town, see? N'yeah!

maybe it's a combination of all these factors and more, but this'll b interesting if it's really the venue's first show back.

hopefully they can provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment for their patrons.

I think Concord at 12,500 is way to big for King Crimson in the best of times. They usually play small theaters, and as this is a Live Nation show that would normally be the Masonic in SF, but I'd imagine they're playing Concord because either they or Live Nation wanted the show to be outdoors. And I don't think ticket price is an issue, there are plenty of $39.50 seats available.

I figure the low ticket sales are a combination of the venue being too big for KC, along with DELTA keeping people away from many events these days.

But for those worried about the plague, after looking at the seating chart showing available tickets, there will be ample room to be far away from others.

Far out.

I was thinking venue capacity could b a big factor too, did they fill anything comparable back East?

I was thinking wolf trap but concord sounds like it's more like halfway to merriwhether size.

will this forever b known as the never was Masonic show that went supersonic?

only Lance can decide!

Stub me down to the cool kids row...

phones are the new stubs... we can certainly try!

I doubt moving down will be any trouble.

If sales stay the way they are they'll probably be openly allowing it.

But being good zoners you'll likely want to stub-down anyway.

Because, FUCK THE MAN!!!!!
