Legendary Wrestler Ivan ‘The Russian Bear’ Koloff passed away at the age of 74. Remember watching him as a kid. He had a bone crushing finishing move, a classic bear hug. RIP Ivan.

I had followed WWWF for a year or two in grade school when there was 2 hours a week on Saturday late morning and afternoon, and was shocked the hear Bruno had dropped the strap to Koloff, not knowing that the heals were used as a bridge to the next hero.
Pedro Morales won the title a couple months later, lost to Stan "The Hand" Stasiak, who was soon after defeated by Sammartino.
