12th DelFest-Memorial Day Weekend 2019

Forums:

For the six zoners using Viva, heads up on the upcoming Delfest. Anyone here attending this year?

Schedule is here: http://delfest.com/lineup/daily-schedule/

If going, hit me up.

I wish.

Voodoo, I seriously considered it, Pretty good lineup. Three airports to choose from but none particularly close. Would've done the camping tent rental thing.

But flights weren't cheap, needed a shuttle, and it often rains at that one. Just too much hassle and cost for a four day fest when I'll be seeing some of them at Targhee in August (and/or just saw them last year). And I'm going to a local fest to see the Stringdusters June 1st and then going to Flagstaff in mid-September for Pickin' In The Pines.

Pixie and The Partygrass Boys are locals here in Salt Lake. The fiddle player Amanda Grapes is pretty good. Would've loved to surprise 'em with a Utah shirt in the audience. They're doing a couple of Colorado dates soon after Del Fest.  https://www.pixieandthepartygrassboys.com/

HAVE A GREAT TIME whoever's going.

Del Fest Update - Friday, May 17

Schedule Update

In the realm of bad news/good news, some of you have probably heard that Sam Bush had to undergo an unexpected surgery this week. The bad news is that Sam sadly won't be able to join us in Cumberland this year. The good news is that he's going to be perfectly alright and back in pickin' shape soon.

The fantastic news is that (never at a loss for pals to help out in a pinch) Del rounded up the great Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder to come and fill Sam's spots on Sunday. He and the band will perform late Sunday and Ricky will be able to strap on his Red Telecaster and join the TM’s at late night to continue what Rolling Stone called the best 36 minutes of DelFest 2018.  That is a BIG DEL YEAH!

And that's not all the good news! If you happened to previously notice the TBD on the online schedule for Sunday...that spot has been determined! We're please to let you know another regional band, Serene Green has been added to the lineup. All right!

Get well Sam!!!

I agree with Rolling Stone.  The rain abbreviated Travelin’ McCoury set last year was the best set of a great DelFest.  Ricky surprised me with some great playing on a big red Gibson electric guitar and Sam also joined in on a little Gibson mandolin.

I’m back there again this year.

<<<SAM BUSH>>>

just saw del on 4/20 here. it was cool, had "the friends" (sierra hull, gibson bros, dre anders) come out & play 3-4 songs each then a full del set. then everyone on stage to play about another 5-6 songs that ended with "a little help from my friends". very nice evening of music

Just put a new roof rack on the car. Looking forward to some fine Cumby festival weather

The Travlin' McCoury's are undoubtedly one of the best bluegrass bands.

And I love that they did this in 2015

Love being there. Eddie we should meet up.

Huge love to Sam bush. The man has survived cancer multiple times, and I’ve never seen him without a smile on his face.

Not many could fill his shoes. I’m sure Ricky will do him proud
