Tomorrow evening, Eric Harland will be joined by Reuben Rogers, Chris Potter and James Francies. To those of you who are familiar with Charles Lloyd, the Harland / Rogers rhythm section is no stranger. They're one of the best rhythm sections in jazz, and I would argue that they are the best at the moment.
Those familiar with "out" playing probably know the name Chris Potter, as well. I've never spent any substantial amount of time listening to him, but from what I understand, he's one of the most inventive players in the genre.
Tomorrow's set is going to take place at the Berklee Performance Center; there's a $12 cover ($8 in advance, which I might go and pick up right now).
I know Lance will be familiar with some of these players. I'd love to hear his thoughts about Chris Potter.
