Acid Tests. Part II.
Acid Tests. Part II.
Entering Sunday 2/18, I thought they may downshift a bit after the incredible nights that preceded. I mean, there was nowhere else to go right? Then BOOMSKI with a nearly 1/2 hour mega Dancin' out of the gate, setting the exploratory pace of what was to come. Set II and the encore is a nuclear, mind blowing stretch of music. Phil Lesh at peak power. Just incredible.

No doubt. Walking out of the show on Sunday night I told a friend that I would never again whine about not catching the GD in the 60s and early 70s. We got it all that night at the Maritime.

I don't remember what party favors were shared that week (other than the music), but I do recall the walls of the Maritime Hall dripping with psychedelia .*.*.

> What a dump that place was! Great shows though
The floors were sticky as hell, like so sticky they almost pulled your shoes off.
But they had a lot of great shows there for sure - not just Phil. I saw a lot of reggae and dub there too. There was other stuff that I was not into, but I appreciated the venue's wide range of offerings. I always wondered what happened to their vault of shows. 2B1 productions did a few official CD releases of Maritime shows. I seem to recall they also did some video of the shows, maybe? Where is that stuff now?

And true, many other great shows there. To point, Rads NYE '95.
On the flip side, the Black Crowes stumbled on stage almost 2 hours late one evening, with Chis mostly interested in drinking and sparring with the audience.
