3 times in 1 day!

Forums:

Nope. Not that. The same song 3 times in 1 day and a song that one wouldn't expect in places you wouldn't expect either. The first 2 were on the radio WFUV-FM in different weekend music programs. The 3rd time was played by the DJ in between acts at this past Saturday's Summer Strummer/Gates of the West benefit honoring the birthday and music of Joe Strummer of Clash and Mescalaros fame. Some punk or new wave forgotten song? Nope.

Andy Williams - Can't Get Used to Losing You

Considering the radio station and location of the concert, I could have almost expected The Beats cover of that song. Instead the original Andy Williams version of the Doc Pumus and Mort Shuman song. Surprised or not, I've always though it was a great song.

Was hoping this was a Streetvan thread

It is a great song.

That song is nice sounds like Andy may have lifted that intro though.......................https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ8KK8u9dN8

Since Andy's song came out in 1963, if there was any lifting it was in the reverse, Bucky.

Considering it's Enya with all her Gaelic faerie standing stone stuff, it would not surprise me if she time traveled to a a pre-1963 date, wrote her song and the plucking strings sound was stolen. One never knows with those old ways.

Andy was my first concert.

It is a great song.

I stand tense-corrected!

Bolded not for tense correction - just for emphasis.

I hear the same song on 2 separate stations at the same time a few times a year driving around, sometimes at exactly the same place in the song.
