i would like, and i am 100% not joking, to see some kind of research done on the viability of psychedelic therapy on people who have taken a wide variety of psychedelics, tripped hundreds of times for recreation, and who have taken psychedelics in a wide variety of settings and situations - particularly settings and situations where you are in public or otherwise have to "control" your trip in various ways to appear normal and avoid danger or arrest, often despite having taken doses bordering on the heroic.
i dont have a specific issue im interested in seeking psychedelic therapy for personally, but i have a very strong suspicion that it would not work on me, at least with average doses of traditional psychedelics like LSD or mushrooms - ive mapped that space so well, and i have so much control over it. ive never seen this issue discussed at all when talking about psychedelic therapy. i would imagine there are others here with similar feelings or suspicions since my experiences that inform these suspicions revolve largely around tripping at dead shows.
I just had dinner with an Iraq vet who was on the verge of suicide just a few months ago and claims that 5g of psilly saved his life. Anger, resentment, depression and anxiety.....gone due to new perspectives, but he was never a rec user. Since that experience, he has backed that up with several 5- Meo dmt ceremonies.
My experiences with the therapeutic use of alvarius venom at very high doses has been a game changer for the same reason, new and deep-seated perspectives can provide a new view. And alvarius venom, along with other classic psychs, are not about controlling anything, they are about letting go.. ....completely. Escape through surrender.

It's interesting to watch science catch up.
