40 Years Ago Today--Rutgers Athletic Center

Forums:

Yikes--40 years.  We got out of high school in Bucks County Friday afternoon, cruzed up Route 1 to the NJ Turnpike and walla--Piscataway.  I remember during Look Like Rain the glass roof shoed lightning flashes from the thunder storm and I remember the roof leaking near Mickey and they had a bucket catching it as it came down. Mississippi-Franklins opener, Dire Wolf and a good Sugar Mag is what I can hazily still recall

The lightning show! That was my first one. How nice of the boys to come to my school just as I was leaving ....

The lightning (Skylight in the ceiling) was in perfect sync with the chant 'Fire' during the FOTM. So many people who were there were fixed on that.

April 2021 ... I am visiting my son in Portland OR. He & wife hang out with a couple 20 years older than them. Dean (no.. not THE Dean) was seeing shows in 1981 and his crew got to the venue early afternoon. Athletic Center staff had no idea what awaited them when the circus blew into town. He and his crew found several out of the way  entrance doors that afternoon and taped the locks in unlocked position. Lots of peeps just walked in the back door.
