The closing performance of the New York premier run of THE GREAT HALL at The Sanford Meisner Theatre. The stories of several travelers' experience on Ellis Island. Like most musicals, it had some sappy, saccharine songs, but there were others that gave you chills even while you were singing them. Largely reworked from the world premier in '93 (and with a huge upgrade in terms of vocalists).
After this performance, the librettist treated the cast and crew to a bash at a nearby restaurant, where we all walked in to find out tha Mike Tyson had bit off Holyfied's ear.
The date only clicked because I happened to grab the production tee shirt at random this AM.
