80+ and still rocking

Forums:

Phil will be 80 soon. I imagine he isn’t gonna stop anytime soon. It’s so inspiring to me, and the music they wrote 40, 50, 60 years ago is different now, has matured, and sometimes has different meaning and significance from an aged perspective. Just curious who has the zone seen perform during their 8th decade?

Buddy Guy

Kris Kristofferson

Wayne Shorter

Willie

B.B. King

Pinetop Perkins

Ramblin Jack

George Jones

Hazel Dickens

Loretta Lynn

next week will add Bill Wyman to the list

Next year we had our leader to that list

BB and part of Jack's set.

Del McCoury  (seen Del three times since he turned 80 earlier this year - he is remarkable!)

John Mayall (will see him in Annapolis in 12 days - don't know what to expect from this 85 year old legend - I know he can spot talent so I expect he'll have some good players)

Saw John Mayall last year. He was fantastic and a true professional.

Saw Merle Haggard a few months before he passed but he didn't make it quite to 80.

Bill Wyman? Where are you seeing him? Hope you don't expect to see him at a Stones show.

Oh how could I forget.  Went to Ian Hunter's 80th back in June. Great show. If you have a chance go see the Mott the Hoople reunion show. Great night of music.

McCoy Tyner

Charles Lloyd

Kenny Burrell (88)

I'm curious as well as to where you will be seeing Bill Wyman.

I heard the Stones offered Wyman the same deal as they gave Mick Taylor on the last tour. One song a night. He turned them down.

Nick Gravenites

Freddie Roulette

not sure why why I thought that, unless it’s this drinkin TNT smokin dynamite LP I’ve been listening to for the last week or so.

Really doesn’t get much better.

Roy Haynes

Max Roach

Ornette Coleman

Sonny Rollins

I saw BB in 1995 and it was slightly depressing- not what he used to be.

Saw him in 1981 at a casino cabaret club in Harrah's Tahoe and it was killer.

Willie just cancelled a tour.  Hope he gets better.
