I remember when they did this in between MSG and Nassau or was it the Cap?

Amazing quality here:

That was the day after my first show. Missed it by this much.

Love this shot!

Thanks for posting. I was never  aware of any late 70's acoustic shows.  I wonder how big that venue was.

Previously a popular student hangout, the Rambler Room now serves as a spacious multi-purpose room for meetings and events. Located on the first floor of the Centennial Forum building, the Rambler Room has an abundance of natural light and floor to ceiling windows. The casual environment of this event space lends itself well for team building, activities, or group meetings and can accommodate up to 300 guests.

This was during the afternoon, a friend was in town for the Uptown shows, the middle night of a 3 night stand, but never heard anything, who knew KC Moan was on Bobby's radar that long ago....

Thread Tangent provoked by the set list of this show.

Seeing Big Boy Pete on the list and being familiar with Hully Gully (from the legendary show at the Melkweg in ADam on Weir's Bday in 1980)
I back traced the source of these songs to find out they were written and recorded by the Doo Wop Group - the Olympics.

Clearly this must have been one of Weir's childhood musical fascinations (sorta like how he dug Marty Robbins and did El Paso and to a lesser extent, Big Iron).

Surprise to me  -  contrary to my understanding, Good Lovin' was a song also written by The Olympics.
I had always associated Good Lovin' with the Young Rascals.

So the Dead in doing Good Lovin' covered a cover.....

1980 Acoustic in Mill Valley - not killer audio but the atmosphere and performance are very cool to listen too.

Great pics in that Loyola pic stream

Wow, neat!

I love the no-frills aspect of this show!
