I have been an Alaska Airline MVP Gold for 15 years and I fly with it all the time. Never had a problem. I usually just stick some pre-rolls in a pant pocket in my carry on. I have never carried more than a half ounce or so. Edibles travel well, if you want you can put the edibles in a packaging that doesn’t advertise the THC. Don’t bring liquid based stuff like cannabis drinks in your carry on.   Important to note that I live in a legal state and there would be no consequences if TSA found anything and referred me to local police. Might be different in a real restrictive state. 

Did someone ask where to hide your drugs?

If you are flying out of a legal state it’s legal. 

TSA doesn’t give a shit, for real. I’ve flown over a hundred times out of marijuana legal states with no issues. 

I put the marijuana in my carry on, so if they find it they won’t discard it. It is legal, after all. I have never had TSA question me about marijuana in my bag, 

I do not fly out of states where marijuana is illegal with marijuana. 

Find MLK Blvd. in the city you are traveling to, and keep your eye out, and you will find what you need

If you are flying into or out of a state where its still illegal, that's sound advice.

I have no concerns about flying out of Oregon for the reasons noted above, but my concern is landing in an airport where there are still dogs that are trained to sniff out cannabis.  Last year, I went on an extended trip where I was flying into Miami.  Considering the length of the trip, I ignored my own advice and brought a new vape cartridge double vacuum sealed and tucked into my toiletries bag.   I also brought some factory sealed edibles.  Didn't have any troubles.

It’s my understanding that the dogs we see wandering in airports are for bombs.  

Also, I’ve learned that dogs aren’t trained to smell bombs and drugs, because if they “hit on” someone, their handlers wouldn’t know if the dog smelled drugs or a bomb, which are handled in different ways, Drugs: grab perp. Bomb: get the fuck away.

I fly every week and take my hashoil pen with me no issues.  I just remove the cartridge and throw it in the bottom of my bag with the rest of my accumulated junk.  The pen is amazing and can be hit anywhere.

A couple friends actually take bud with them and have a whole rigamarole they go through.  One has a container of a herb-like supplement and grinds up a few grams of bud and crams into the capsules, blending them into the container/bottle of supplements.

Honestly, grab yourself a pen if you can.  I paid 40 bucks for the one I have now and it's about the size of a Djeep lighter.  The cartridges are $20 a piece and get you ripped.

i have not flown under prop 64 but under 215, the tsa is required to alert local law enforcement if cannabis is found, and it is the official policy of both SFPD and alameda sheriffs office that people with medical marijuana cards are allowed to bring their cannabis on the plane. so as far as flying out of SFO or OAK with a medical recommendation - even if your cannabis is found and the police are called, you will be allowed to fly with your cannabis.

i have never been stopped or had to put this to the test however.

many years ago i flew to CO to see furthur at the 1st bank, and while i was out there was given some weed that a friend of mine grew. i didnt really need to bring the weed home, but it was good, a friend grew it, and it would be nice to take it home, so i figured this would be a good time to test my luck.

i had it unconcealed in my backpack, and at denver international, i asked a tsa agent "since its legal in CO and i have my medical card in CA, can i bring this cannabis i have in my backpack on the plane?"

he told me the tsa is federal, so if they find cannabis they are required to take action, but the action they are required to take is calling over local law enforcement. he said, "i would call over denver sheriffs, but weed is legal in CO, so..." and just kinda trailed off.

i asked, "ok, should i go ask that police officer over there?", pointing to a nearby cop.

the tsa agent responded; "i wouldnt bring anything up that doesnt need to be brought up."

and ive been flying with sandwich bags of totally unconcealed weed ever since. i just make a paper bag filled with sandwich bags of snacks - a sandwich, chips, cookies etc and just throw an ounce in a sandwich bag in with my snacks.

if you are flying out of CA you will be A-OK. does not matter AT ALL where you are flying into. ABSOLUTLEY NONE of the dogs at airports are drug sniffing dogs unless brought in to investigate something specific.

another great tip for flying with cannabis - a few airports have lockers you can pay to use...las vegas has these. most airports removed them after 9/11 but some, like las vegas, still have them...so once you get through security in CA, if you have a layover in vegas, you can pay a few cents for a locker, stash your carry on with weed in it, and head outside to smoke a joint...then you dont have to go back through security with weed, its safely inside the airport while you toke up out front.

however DO NOT fly home out of an illegal state with leftover weed or an old pipe - everything cannabis related you are bringing you should plan on using or throwing away before flying home.

obviously you need to be more careful if you have dreadlocks, have unkept long hair that is not neatly tied up, look muslim/arab, or are carrying over 9k in cash.

also just fyi bradley airport in CT is very very close to NYC and the security is much, much more relaxed and low tech than JFK or laguardia.

if you need to bring some sketch shit home from NYC, fly out of bradley every time.

no longer applicable. weed is legal in CA. card is irrelevant now. everyone is fine.

there is still medical marijuana in CA. doctors still give recommendations. last i checked it is a very confusing situation where the traditional "card" from a pot doctor still allows you to carry/buy more than the amount set by prop 64, and comes with reduced restrictions on traveling in a car with cannabis in it, among other things, but the newly designed state MMJ program gives out state backed cards, and you need one of these, for instance, to avoid certain taxes when buying from a dispensary. 

many parts of 215 are gone,  but some still remain, written into prop 64, and in this case we still have a use for classic "pot doctor" recommendations as well as a newly minted and much more restrictive state program. AFAIK there is no new info on how local LE will deal with medical recommendations under prop 64 as far as flying. its entirely possible that a classic "pot doc" recommendation will still get you in the air with your weed - not because the state or LE finds it legitimate, but probably more because they dont want to devote time or resources to cannabis enforcement. i would be very, very surprised if you cant fly out of SFO or OAK with a state issued med card.

if you have a legit medical issue, not just a bit of back pain or insomnia you used to get a card from "best 420 docs" or some shit like that, and fly regularly, its probably worthwhile to get a state issued med card. this card will also reduce your taxes in the dispensary.

another good reason to have a card - and this goes for state issued or classic "pot doc" cards, is the reduced restrictions for traveling in a car with cannabis. under prop 64, you are only allowed to travel with canabis if it is in a totally sealed container - as in, factory, tamper evident seals put on it for retail - meaning you cant have a jar of weed that is already opened in your car, even if the jar itself is closed. you have to have your cannabis sealed as if you just bought it from the store. so, technically, it is illegal to buy an 1/8th, open it, smoke some at home, and then a few days later bring the rest to a friends house to smoke...that is illegal.

for instance, you buy a jar from a dispensary, take it to a concert, open it up, and smoke a few buds. now that the jar is opened, it is now illegal to take the rest of it home with you, or in a car at all.

with a medical rec you can travel in a car with a jar or bag on cannabis as long as it is closed, even if the tamper evident seal has been broken, meaning you can open your jar, smoke some, and as long as you close the lid of the jar you can drive with the jar in your possession, just like the old days under 215. i have a medical rec for this reason alone.

My buddy flies a lot and always carries, legal state or not.  He always checks a bag though and puts it in with his toiletries (along with a stone pipe and a dryer sheet).  Never had an issue.  He only brings a few grams.  An eighth at most.  The reality is they are not looking for a few grams of bud in a checked bag.  No one cares.

i have a friend that will bring a few grams of hash to chile, but those are easier to conceal. he does not fly with flower. going thru any kind of international customs with weed probably isnt a good idea.

vape carts may be fine, "sauce" textured hash in bulk can be disguised as jam/preserves fairly easily, personally i would do some research into what goes on at customs in chile. if they do not use full body xrays you might be safe taping some weed between your balls and asshole. if flying out of a legal state you would only need to do this at your last opportunity to use the in plane restroom before getting off the plane in chile.

some vape carts, if you pack it with a few decoy bottles of standard nicotine e-juice that are the same color as your vape carts is probably the safest bet.

yeah i think your dumb if you are doing it international in this day and age...

id hide it better going out of ny and get there early - afaik possession of small amounts is a fine...if found its not the end of the world but you will have to deal with the cops giving you a ticket, not sure how long that takes or if they would drag it out to fuck with you.

If you are in a legal state going to a legal state, you should be OK.

Man, I don't want to give you misleading info. See, the cops here are honestly primarily concerned about agricultural contaminants more than anything else. Bringing any kind of vegetable or fruit product is strictly prohibited to avoid bugs and whatnot that could fuck up the agricultural economy. So there's pretty much always cops walking around with dogs but they're looking for fruits first, coke second (most coke doesn't come in through the airport in Santiago) and maybe for herb but I really doubt it. Every time I walk through I think damn, I could sneak herb through here so easily, but I haven't actually done it since back in the good ol' days before 9-11 when you could just wrap tape around a bag, put it in your pocket and walk it through. So, YMMV.

On the other hand, if you let me know when you're arriving I can probably just coordinate and meet up with you and hook you up with something tasty. Work schedule allowing, I have no problem with that. Let me know! :)

Been flying with weed on every domestic flight I've ever been on since the 80's. Used to carry it on my person, no problem, these days I just put in my checked baggage, never been an issue ...

I haven't flown much in the last couple years(3-4 times) but the few trips that I made I've put my vape pen - cart attached - right into the bin at TSA screening.  I usually have a bunch of oil and/or herb packed away tightly in my carry on.   I honestly don't really think too much about it and I'm not all that clean cut looking. 

Sending to the destination is always an option.  When my kids were young, before concentrates were plentiful, a few ounces of flower were always waiting upon arrival. 

priority overnight is your friend.

private shipping companies handle so many packages a day they don't have time to look for relatively miniscule amounts of pot.

they just don't want to refund money because your shipment didn't make it's guaranteed arrival time.

Dont sweat it.  Last year I flew to Vegas for a wedding I brought 2 oz Humboldts finest vacuum packed in my carryon. From SFO to Vegas.  After the wedding trip we flew from Vegas to Louisville.   We smoked out the rental on the way to drop it off (got charged for it :( ) and I had my weed not vacuumed sealed in my carry-on.   We went right through security with no problems.  The festival we went to see in Louisville got cancelled the 2nd day so we didnt smoke as much.  I rolled several fatties for the flight back to SFO.  We smoked and smoked away.  I thought about leaving it, but it was some good chronic weed, I'm not wasting it.  I roll it up in my clothes, probably a half oz at this point and go through security with no problems.   I reeked of weed and I have long hair and a goatee like Jesus.  We were getting burgers and while standing in line at the airport still, I notice a piece of weed stuck to my carry-on luggage.  Needless to say it's a breeze flying with weed.  They are looking for bombs, not trying bust potheads.

Got through Chilean customs no problem.  They even had three dogs going up and down the customs line, but then I saw the handlers were wearing Department of Agriculture vests.  Probably just checking for fruit and shit.

just as an FYI for all zoners, if you meet me at an out of state show - ive been known to pop up in spots like denver or nyc for drugband shows - i may offer you a hit of acid. if we are outside the state of CA, in all likelihood that acid was smuggled into the state in my ass, so dont sleep on a potentially once in a lifetime opportunity.
