All Them Witches

Forums:

Saw these guys over the weekend. If I had to pick a genre, I would call these guys Super Spacey Groove Rock. They are out of Nashville. I would go see them again.

The opener was a band called Handsome Jack, they were also pretty cool.

Stoner Rock

Genres are BS

Take "100 hits of acid", Brocachie, and think again. Genres allow us to control, define, discuss, and understand things.

It was 1000 hits

Doom groove?

You need to start smaller, for saftey's sake.

Dead $ Company is dad.rock

too many to keep count

it helps with nothing

Funny this band is mentioned on the Zone - it comes up as a suggested listen every time I check something out on Youtube that Ateix recommends - along with a similar band "Samsara Blues Experiment"

Yeah it's not bad, but does lack any real alpha guitar shredding, it's more like riffing, for someone like me fed on a diet of Jimmy Herring/ Barry Sless shredding, this is kinda lacking, sorta like late 90's modern rock (Creed, Sevendust, etc?).  The last song of that link was the only thing I found kinda interesting - "Internet".  Some competent harmonica work in there too.  To me this sounds like they started out playing Foo Fighters & Creed covers in bar bands - you don't have to really play lead guitar, just take that rocker poser stance with your legs spread apart, then really run your hand up & down across the fretboard really energetically & frantically & the crowd thinks you're a real rocker.

I've become a fan of the band Clutch in recent years, they play similar but harder edged blues stoner rock, they started out as a thrash metal band but have mellowed out as they get older.  They can play their instruments really well too, which is a big plus, including lead guitar and harmonica.

Here they are in the rain in New Orleans:

I really like the song "Spacegrass" starts around 41 min's in . . .
