And now Grass Valley

Forums:

#bennettfire Bennett, East Bennett and Lava Rock Drive in Grass Valley. Rapid rate of spread. Evacuations and road closures in effect.

BeNice posted on Facebook that she was told to stay in place. The roads seem to be gridlocked and there's nowhere for her to go right now. She said there are helicopters above her house. Redneck has offered to help her get out of there if she would like to and offered a place to stay. My sister is also there but not answering her phone. Be nice had asked me to call her and make sure she knew what was going on.

Stay safe everybody, stay safe.

We have friends and relations in GV - hope they're still OK.

Believe it or not, it's actually raining here, Not in the forecast. . Prob. won't amount to much, but every little bit helps, if only to wet down the vegetation and/or dust.

Vibes for those in GV or anywhere dealing with smoke and fire.

Please continue to provide any updates for the non-Facebook crowd that we wouldn't find in regular news.

Best wishes to all our friends and family in the Sierra foothill fires area(s). Scary times.

I always wondered if we set up a water pipeline to transfer water to other parts of the country if we could change the amount of rain fall in parts of the country

best wishes everyone, stay safe. Way to go Redneck! Doing Florida proud out there

Good news this morning they got on this one fast. Looks mostly contained and very little wind today should help get it fully contained. Dodged a bullet this time, but when it comes to fire and  Grass Valley and Nevada City it is not a matter of if and only a matter of when at this point.

Glad to hear it's contained.  Well done fire guys!!!

My sister didn't answer her phone yesterday because she had to evacuate. She was back home late evening and all is well in her area now,

Glad to hear the disaster was narrowly averted
stay safe

These fire-fighters are incredible.

They don't get NEARLY the attention & credit they deserve, considering how difficult, complicated & dangerous it is that they do.

Fuckin' heroes.

Good news.

Drop n Roll. I think they taught us that in school.

These days I'm really counting my blessings when I don't end up burned out or blown up.

The air here is some dank heavy pea soup from those fires, I can't imagine being close to em.

Hoping everyone and their pets stay out of the flying pans. Pack your cars in advance so you're ready to roll.

I am assuming BeNice is OK? Glad your sister is Judit.

I hear ya Tom. Not said often enough.

Yes, BeNice is OK, or was as of last night.
