Another Vermont Thread

Forums:

I thought you all would enjoy this. Here in Vermont we have something called "Front Porch Forum." Every town has one. It's basically a bulletin board that gets emailed to you daily, where people post things for sale, services, things they need, and sometimes opinions.

Here's one from today (I've taken out the person's contact info):

Seeking Missing Cow

LOST AND FOUND

We had a bull jump our fence on Perry hill road and take off. He was last seen around the golf course. His name is Monty, he's very timid. If any one has seen him or sees him please call me asap! Please don't chase him or try to catch him.  Addison.

Love

Very quaint.

Except for the golf course part. Lost all quaintness right there.

Love golf

Well, there's a golf course just under Perry Hill. It can't be helped. If I was a bull on the loose, I would head that way too. Downhill is the path water takes as well.

What's the difference between southern Vermont and northern Vermont?

One is closer to Canada and the other is closer to Mass?

Not much.

Perhaps its a putt putt.

Let us all know when Monty makes it home safe.

( Monty Come Home )

Good morning everyone.

I'll let you know when Monty comes home, or if he becomes burger. All the harrowing tales will surely be posted.

Hopefully , he makes it home in one piece

((Full Monty))

The north is closer to the Heady.

Monty is destined to be cubed.

are there mountain lions in vermont still?

pretty sure there was one in my yard the other day.

>Love golf<

working class not welcome.

vermont was first state to take down statues of all golfers

I'm playing golf tomorrow. Hope I don't charged by a bull.

Then again I'm not in Vermont.

you may have to settle for an eagle

Fuck, at this point I'll be happy with a birdie.

Good golly gosh! It's an un-trolled Vermont thread.  Sweetness! This will bring all the lurkers out of the shadows to post and garner us many new members. The future is bright.

How can you troll a bull shitting on the 9th hole fairway???

>are there mountain lions in vermont still?

The Easter cougar, or mountain lion is extinct

I think Monty is safe, bulls are out of a cougars normal food chain.

Here's a post from our FPF yesterday:  "We had two Shetland sheep run down Parker Dr and now we can't find them. One is grey and one is brown. If you see them please call....."

Hmmm.... could be a market for fence building in Vermont.

Maybe the sheep and bull are hanging out and banging dope.

>>>are there mountain lions in vermont still?

There's been sightings of catamounts in New England but supposedly there's no breeding population.  Bobcats are more common to see in VT.

Breaking News: Monty is safe at home. We can all breathe a sigh of relief.

That was a tragedy narrowly averted!

If any of you VT zoners want to meet for a beer sometime next Friday or Saturday I'll be in Burlington helping my son move in to UVM.

I'm glad Monty survived the ordeal!

Hey China>Rider. Our drop-off time at the UVM dorm is 8:30 am Friday. I have to go in to work for the afternoon, and in celebration of #3 going to college, the last, we are blowing town for the weekend promptly after work! My experience has been that after we help them set up the room, our jobs are done. They have a full slate of orientation stuff that does not include us.

What dorm is yours in? Mine is in Wills, on the Athletic Campus. Redstone Campus is the best place to be.

He is in Redstone. Why is it the best?

Decent location, great green space and lawns, and the best parties and weed. Generally a chill vibe. Is yours in a theme?

My son was on Redstone his freshman year. The only drawback was that he was in a triple, which was really a double with an extra bunk bed. I think that prisoners legally require more square footage per person.

your offspring will probably enjoy living and learning over any traditional dorms at uvm.

redstone is located around the music department, it houses mostly music students, main campus is nicer.

It's all different now, Lava. 80% of the dorms now have themes. I'm not quite sure how they work, but the Pirates of the Caribbean theme looked really fun.

Personally, I think that L & L has the best location. I'm not joking about this, but now it's known as the best place for threesomes and orgies.

No, he didn't get a theme, he wanted the outdoors one.  When he got his roommate assigned he sent him an email to say hi, the kid never responded.  Hopefully that's not a bad sign.

Boys are like that. I don't think that my son contacted his roomies before they moved in. I wouldn't sweat it.

living and learning was known for the cleanest vials on campus, at least while i was there.

but, it was always thematic, we had to choose a residence aligned with your studies - pottery, psychology, environmental science, etc. are uvms traditional dorms now thematic, as well? if there is a disney dorm, there must be a coca-cola dorm. ;)

Now it's things like Outdoors, Healthy Living, Sustainability, etc. You take a 1 credit class your first semester to go along with the theme.

The worst is supposed to be healthy living, where they have zero tolerance. Not only are drugs and alcohol not allowed, students are encouraged to narc if someone even comes home with a buzz.

Lava, when were you there?

almost twenty years ago, now ~ thanks for making me feel old ;D

Old? Shit, I lived in Burlington almost 30 years ago.

When I was a Frosh @ Pitt in '78 the "Quiet Dorm" housed all the drug dealers.  And yes, I lived in the Quiet Dorm.

Hummingbird is in Burlington.  I’m getting ready to go back there for JRAD 7/28.

Monty is heading to the bright lights and the big city of Burlington.

Morning, jr. One year and eleven months later.
