I never met Chris irl, but got to know him on the black screen, and through emails, etc. He was a wild man with a tender heart, and I'm saddened to hear of his passing.

Fuck!!!! I actually did meet Chris OG Mrlot etc - about 10 years ago in Humboldt. And we crossed paths a few other times after that. Stayed in touch for a while, but it had been several years. I think he got into some trouble on the black screen, or at least ruffled some feathers and offended some people with some silly bs. But in person, he was, in my experience, a very kind soul. Also generous, he often had some tasty gifts. Always a happy time to see him.

He was younger than me, and I suspect younger than a lot of us. I'm guessing he was in his 40s.  Way too young. Fuck this shit.

RIP Chris and condolences to his close friends and family. 
Wasn't on the Zone during his time here but he was a Zoner just the same.

This just really Sux. I spoke to him last week ( I actually keep in touch with many old Zoners), He had told me his seizures were getting worse, This was posted on his FB page when I got up this morning, Still trying to wrap my head aound what happened to Robin... Yes worse 2 words .. ZONER DOWN.... FUCK!!!

This is his long time friend posting, as his family is completely lost at the moment.

His mom also lost her bay girl three years ago this coming October.

He was just here with us not but an hour ago!

Chris & his sister Kelly were both born with epilepsy which some close friends and family have always known & others found out as the years past or when Christopher trusted someone enough to share that with.

As a child, doctors weren’t exactly sure what was wrong other than his pale white skin and fireball red hair. He’s struggled with an unfair condition up until he took his last breath during a massive seizure that struck his body a few hours ago that landed him back in the ER.

I’m sure most people will think to themselves “well the dude drank and partied pretty hard”, though if you knew that sweet guy deep down you’d know differently. Especially after losing his little sister to liver failure. It took him a bit before he went California sober on his own with no help of a fancy rehab or counseling what so ever. Meaning he drank drinks not containing alcohol and smoked more cannabis than anyone I’ve ever met. Which all his doctors said was a GOOD thing because it lowered his seizure threshold even more so than the large amounts of “anti-seizure” medications he’s been on his entire life.

Chris and I met in the fall of 1994 outside of the Philadelphia Spectrum, in search of tickets for which turned out to be both of our’s first Grateful Dead concerts. Which he hit many more of until Jerry Garcia passed. He’s seen them all. Countless acts from his love of Reggae music & acts like Israel Vibration in their prime, Jerry’s Garcia Band, hundred’s of Phish shows prior to Phish breaking up and leaving him to wonder what was next? What was next was he quit working for friends of the families concrete company just outside of Philly and moved himself and a not so grateful ex to Eugene, Or. He’s lived all over the country. Born in Philadelphia, Pa where a very large part of both his mother and blood father’s side are & has of course been a hardcore Philadelphia Eagles fan since he could talk and walk. He learned the art of concrete finishing through his uncle John whom was his father’s older brother and excelled at it more than he would have once thought.

While living in Northern California in the infamous Humboldt County, Ca his then partner inspired him to make polished concrete countertops and polished concrete tables. He became well known for his 13 point lightning bolt tables which were a homage to the band the Grateful Dead. Everyone from the Grateful Dead’s founding member and bass player Phil Lesh owned one right down to strangers who became dear friends of his. He enjoyed what he did until muscle and joint pain would make it harder to work his trade. He left the west coast in 2022 after “friends” gave up on him and his disability that were no longer benefiting their needs. Many people “ghosted” him altogether not understanding what was going on with Christopher’s epically strange movement’s & things that would come out of his mouth & offending those that claimed to be real friends and girlfriends. Christopher has dedicated his body to science especially to people with epileptic seizures. He leaves behind his beautiful white Yetidog whom he loved like anyone has a child. Yeti was by his side like he’s always been and let out a cry/howell when he could tell his owner had left.

Sometime soon there will be an official obituary posted in Eugene, Or, San Diego, Ca where he attended High School as may close friends still live, as well as the Philadelphia Inquirer for family members that do not participate in the Facebook lifestyle.

My hope is that he doesn’t need a drivers license wherever he is now and that he’s back in one of the many air-cooled and dope VW pop-tops he’d had while on this place we currently call earth.

I can't remember the exact handle, but are we talking about the zoner who sometimes went by Orange Dude, or the Orange One?

If so, he was definitely a "dynamic" personality on the zone. He seemed to enjoy pushing buttons, and he liked mixing it up with Kirby and Tulsa Chris, following them to that short-lived "zone" that sprang up around the same time as viva.

I met that guy at TxR a number times and he was electric in person as well, but also very cool. I recall him laughing about the character he presented on the zone, saying it was all in fun.

That dude was lit for sure, and if it is him who has moved on I'm sure he's lighting things up in the next realm as well.

Offline, Chris was one of the nicest Zoners I ever met.  He was so proud of the table he gave to Phil. Seen it many times backstage at Terrapin. 

Hoping things are easier for him now.

What a sad tough story.  I'm glad he had some highlights despite his hidden struggles.  RIP indeed. 

I feel like we need a RIP tab to keep up with these losses.   Very disappointing and sad to hear he died at a young age.   Hug the ones you love.

Could he have done this himself, just to see the reactions? Probably not, but given his zoning history anything is possible.

I've often thought memorials are wasted on the dead, as they don't get to hear all the praise & love that floods in after they've moved on, so Chris will get that gift at least.

(Humm, not a bad idea. Maybe I'll consider it next time I'm feeling down. But then, what if nobody says anything nice? Sigh)

One thing for sure, if a "friend" went to all the trouble to write that long message and then the 38 minute thing as a prank, I'd start looking for other friends.

The whole thing harkens back to some of the better shenanigans on the old zone.

And it is good to know he's still chooglin'.

I don't know... I thought he was older than that, but he was one of the younger zoners...the guy in the pictures looks just like him, and old for 36. Maybe he has a doppelganger? Maybe whoever stole his phone and wrote his obituary on fb knows?

It's been years since he lived in Humboldt. If those are him, it's from a very long time ago, and when he lived In Oregon, he definitely did not look just like those.
