Anyone heard anything about Bobby?

Forums:

A few rumors floating around. Please tell me he's OK.

I heard he was suffering from dementia and dying of cancer.

But that was 15 years ago, so it may be old news.

I see people on Facebook asking if anyone has heard anything... no doubt there are ugly rumors.

I spoke with Mark Karan about him last night. I did not like what I heard. On a positive note, Mark and Pevar ripped a couple Floyd sets for us and i was pleasantly surprised

> I did not like what I heard.

So, what did you hear?

Didn't he used to play with some band called The Grateful Dead?

At least, that's what I hear.

I heard he has a head like a potato.

it's december.

didn't they do a bunch of sphere shows?

how about just let him chill. does he owe people more shows or something?

>>  I did not like what I heard.

So he told you Ratdog is getting back together?

Really though, a tease like that is not fair.

Free Bob! And Let Bobby Shave!

I'm sorry, it's ambiguous enough that there isn't really actual "news" to share(and if it's true or not..) but it was mostly the tone are sentiment expressed during the convo that made me sad

It does appear that the rumor mill out there is building up some steam.

Jorma has a few things to say about Weir and other S.F. guitarists in this Guitar Player interview:

That actually made me laugh!

I do get curious about who Mayer will replace him with.
Not that curious, though.

>>>I did not like what I heard<<<

Epstein files?

someone call macon carrington, we need a bob weir/eipstein rundown

Strange not seeing any remaining GD members on the schedule of any festivals. I think Don Was is working on another project.

get well, Bobby

Here he us doing a Tiny Desk thing back in October....<<<

I know the date is published as Oct 2025, but pretty sure this is a fair bit older (want to say a couple years).

Yes, that's right.  Here is the same tiny desk video from March, 2020.

Oh damn.  Good catch.  I thought he looked a little spunky in that.

I heard that his dog has no nose.

"I heard that his dog has no nose."

How does he smell?

drumroll...

The high watermark of the post GD was when Ratdog and Phil & Friends were crisscrossing the country. Small venues, intimate shows, multiple tours per year, ah those were the days. I hope Bobby shakes it up and pulls another rabbit out of his hat.

Fabes, a highlight for me was when Phil did a book signing at Philly library and Ratdog was playing same night at the electric factory.  Everyone was hoping for Phil to show up but he didn't.  Good times with Northeast crew!

I'm sad, yet comforted because it seems very appropriate, that Sugar Mag was possibly/probably the last "Bobby song" played (at a show) -- in San Francisco, in Golden Gate Park, in front of thousands of appreciative dancing freaks. Pure Bobby.

Sometimes when the cuckoo's crying
When the moon is halfway down
Sometimes when the night is dying
I take me out and I wander 'round
I wander 'round

Followed by a Touch of Grey encore...with Weir assuring us, no matter what, "we will survive." Thanks Bob. We love you.
