My brother took this picture a long time ago in Dade City, FL. When he came through town my brother would give him $20 and a shirt from the bike shop he owned. Derek would wear the shirt and pocket the $ to feed his video game habit. I gave him $5 on Maro Island one time for video games. He said thanks, "but don't tell my dad."
i still have a copy of the cassette they gave me that weekend, Derek and the Dominators. I've since had it digitalized. Anyone want a copy? I can put it in Dropbox.

Chang Gang Cycling Club out of Tampa area. in the days before it was non-PC to display one. The shirt had a bicycle racer (based on Greg Lemond's image) super imposed over the flag.

Derek Trucks? That's a cool story. I was back in Florida many years ago watching a Jacksonville morning news program and they on a little kid who was a virtuoso slide player and the nephew of one of the Allman Brothers. Think it was the same kid.

had to be in the early 90's. that's about the time i started seeing him in hickory NC. Warren's brother Brian had a record/cd store there and derek would play this little blues club in the city on a regular basis. Brian's store was the ticketmaster outlet at the time. Spent the night in the parking lot to get GD tickets for Greensboro's 3/31 & 4/1 shows in 91. something went horribly wrong with the tickets. i was about 20th in line, and after an hour or so they had only let about 10-12 people in to get tickets. tickets were gone after that first hour and there was a whole parking lot of pissed off people outside. Derek played the club that weekend.
