i live in a sanctuary city and have another adjacent to mine.

garfield nj and wallington nj are predominantly polish. i've been in court in both towns over the years and never has citizenship come up with a defendant regardless of the offense charged.

weird that bergen county jail is a ice facility. there are entire pods for holding illegals who were picked up solely due to the immigration status. meanwhile in the adjoining pods there are dozens of polish illegals doing time for real crimes waiting to be released without even a mention of their immigration status.

 think being white has anything to do with this selective enforcement?

At my nonprofit we are currently looking to fill 45 vacant job positions, ranging from $42,500/year (filing clerk) to $76,000/year (bilingual psychologist).  Many of these have been unfilled for months.  In my team, some people have been hired and leave after a few days/weeks and a few haven't even shown up for the first day.

BTW: I generally consider that Hispanics is a term for people of Spainish descent and Latinos is a term for people who traditionally come from Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas.

Are you a citizen? If so, you'll only face increasing harassment and intimidation, but you won't have to leave. Got any non-citizen fam living here? They may have to go. California will resist it to the extent they can, but the cops and sheriffs are being asked to enforce this--they support Trump at levels around 80%-90%. Detention sites have been ordered and will be built.

Many of my neighbors are already keeping a low-profile. Some have gone back to Mexico. The kids are all scared and aware of it and talk about it all the time. Trump pinatas aren't really around because it's not a joke anymore.

The farm I worked at for a decade hired white folks. None came back after one season and some never made it more than one work week. Every one of those people were there "until they could find something better".... $8/hr, no bennies and straight physical labor outdoors; almost all had a significant other who was the breadwinner. On one guy's first day, on morning break, he said he had to take a shit and never came back. Hispanic families were the backbone of that farm, year after year.  Fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. It was wonderful working with people who were so happy all of the time even though they were getting so little in return for their efforts.

In all fairness, the ICE agents were not from our area as far as I know.  They were unwanted federal invaders of our city.
