Are people really paying $600 $900 $1200 a ticket to see DnC ?

I paid 145 via ticketbastard for Philly.  No regrets.

$9 plus $1 Ticketron fee.

I heard it went up a little for this current tour...

yes people really are. a friend said he paid $1200, I assume he meant for a pair, for one of the SF shows.

Many, many people really love that band, they're playing really well on this tour and it's all over (probably) after this tour. Plus, depending on personal situations $600 to some is the same as $60 to others.

Personally, I'm in a favorite spot for the first of the SF shows for $112 after fees, and I'm hoping for one or both of the other shows for the same price. Despite the fact that I like the band and I think they sound better without Billy I probably won't pay more than that, but I think it will be a fun scene with lots of friends around and I'm sure there will be some good (or more) moments, so I'm looking forward to it.

That's the beauty of a "free" world; you get to spend your money on what you like and on what matters to you, and for many that money is well spent on that band.

Is there really anything else to say, except sneering, desperate attempts to be superior?

thats why they play so slow, to give these custies maximum value per note, really gotta let them savor every single one

but there is no way you can fault the speed/tempo of that song tonight. Opposite of molasses....

Yea tempos are up this year for sure. But I always enjoy tempo critics going on about this and talking about how great 76 was in the same breath

About 1979 I was dating a dead head girl and she told me she had to miss one night of an Oakland run to go and see Neil. At the time I could not comprehend, but that choice makes a lot more sense now.

 I have the whole ticket, once the gates opened, it wasn't a scary crush of people, but the ticket takers just took off.  Both times I went up there, the shows were great.

A friend gifted me pavilion tickets to both nights at the Gorge and a space at the Wildhorse Campground.  Free is good.  Friends are great!

I am not sure who is paying what but anything over $150 for any show on this tour seems altogether unnecessary to me. YMMV.

I was parked near a couple younger guys in LA who were stoked be seeing their first "Dead show" who paid $1200 each "for great seats" but wound up scammed when the barcode was fake and they were turned away at the gate.

It's all relative and according to one's own respective alignment and limits as Lance and others have stated. The highest I paid was $104 out the door (Phoenix, morning of the show via Ticketmaster) among the 5 shows I saw (LA, PHX, and Chicago). I had planned to be in Chicago at some point in June anyway so things fell together really well and I could hang out with some old friends at those Wrigley shows too. A great time was had by all!

The last couple summers there was always links here to listen to the tour for free on some internet radio station.  Can't remember the name of the station. They were generally real good quality audio streams. I had never listened to Dead & Co. before that and found them to be pretty good and actually quite hot at times.  Have not seen any audio links for this tour. Sure would be nice, but I guess it isn't happening.

I was really liking that too and would rather listen than watch, especially for free, but I suspect that bootleg re-streamer (on Mixlr) got a nasty gram from 'the outfit' as the acct is now inactive/dormant. By the way, DeadCo mgt must have some beefy copyright cops because they were scouring the lots (at least in LA) and confiscating anything that said "Dead & Company" while they had zero cares about literally anything and everything else.

I paid $375 for two pretty good seats on Friday night in SF which will be my only show. Mostly going for what could be the last time I get to listen to the music with 10,000+ people. I have zero expectations. 

Now Bruce cost $434 for nose bleeds and he moved the date from Friday to mid week so now I have to take time off and hotels are running over $400 for that night. Fucking asshole. 

As much as we all like to complain about the cost of concerts at the end of the day it's just what people will pay. If they stop paying the price will come down. Festivals are what the kids go to and price per band is a actually a good deal for many of those, but a band that has fans that range in age from 16 to 85 is going to have some serious demand. Just be glad you aren't into Taylor Swift.

I assume that is SPAC. I remember that if you jumped in the air you could catch a glimpse for a second. That place did get me hospitalized with horrible strep throat after getting poured on all night. Haven't been back since, but it does win for best setting for a venue.

This.   I have seen plenty of $84 lawn tix on CoT for the Gorge, but I have been too slow on the draw and missed them.  Still plan on holding out for cheap tix, but considering the Gorge requires commitment and planning, won't wait until I get there to look for last minute deals.  $150 is my price point.

Some pretty great shows in 90, but compared to 69-70, or 72-74, or 77 - not so much.
