Circus yesterday, played live music at a laid back party today... almost like living life again! This was a mostly non dead crowd, but I still sprung Big RR Blues, Good Lovin, Big River, and Paint My Masterpiece (for the very young fiddle player). I think everybody apologized for everything (music wise) at least 20 times, LOL... so it was good to play again! This was at Bobs house, who was gracious enough to join us for WCZJ last year so we could have a drummer, and it was a blast returning the favor.
Hi Noodler! Looks like that was a good little party. It was fun having Bob at the WCZJ playing with us, your post brought back good memories. Glad you could return the favor!
It was fun, had a young kid (and 2 pros) split the time on bass... several female vocalists (most very new at singing stage wise) taking turns at lead / backups, a first time on stage new (yet old) mandolin player, the kid fiddle player... several gals taking turns on percussion... good times!
A new fire, named the Parleys Canyon Fire, has forced highway closures and evacuations of several Summit County communities as approximately 6-8,000 homes are threatened by the nearly 3,000-acre blaze that continues to grow in the mountains between Salt Lake and Summit counties.
According to Utah Fire Info, the fire began around 2 p.m. and “multiple ground & air resources are responding,” while the cause of the fire was linked to a faulty catalytic converter traveling up the canyon, according to Utah Fire Info. The Summit Park, Pinebrook and Lambs Canyon area are being evacuated. Smoke from the blaze can be seen from Salt Lake City as the fire continues to spread at “an extreme rate.”
Interstate 80 was closed for a time, though is now open for westbound traffic with one eastbound lane open, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
