From the National Weather Service in Portland, Oregon;
The NOAA NWS Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a Severe (G4) Geomagnetic Storm Watch for tonight through Thursday (October 10th). These storms may challenge some power and communication systems, but also increase the chances for the Aurora to be seen here in Oregon and Washington.
Be sure to have many styles of communication tools and to stay safe if you head out to view the Aurora.
