Autoflower

Forums:

Looking for a autoflower seed dealer that you have used.

A while back someones wife worked at a seed bank and i remember looking ay the catalog and it was good.

Thanks

the best autos on the market are from mephisto genetics, but they are quite expensive as far as autos go

^^^the best autos on the market are from mephisto genetics, but they are quite expensive as far as autos go^^

Agree fully, and the strain I hear is one of the best of theirs is Sour Stomper!

Happy Growing!

thinking this may be the way to go here...

>>>and the strain I hear is one of the best of theirs is Sour Stomper!

The Stomper mixes tend to be pretty good. I had the pleasure of smoking some Mac Stomper (photoperiod) recently.  I can attest that it's an exceptional daytime head change. High terps and thc

I still have good luck with ILGM.

Good luck - so far none of the AF I have tried have been very interesting - YMMV oc.

ILGM has been ok to me, had a few bunk seeds in last batch, I sent them back with no response yet. been a month.

Besides these couple of bad seeds, We are still on the autoflower train.

>>I sent them back with no response yet. been a month.

You need to email them the order # and the strain. Explain that you followed their germination technique to a T, and if you have pics, send them. They'll almost immediately send you a discount code to use. I got an $89 credit on 3 Northern Lights seeds, and $100 credit last year on 4 different seeds.

Good luck - so far none of the AF I have tried have been very interesting - YMMV oc.

if someone has the time, space and climate to grow normal cannabis, i would ALWAYS recommend against growing autos regardless of strain choice, even if its from mephisto. as far as flavor, potency, flower texture and yield goes, a properly grown pedigreed cut of a normal cannabis strain will always outperform autos. every single time.

yes, some autos can be potent and/or tasty, but at the same time, deadco is a band that "has their moments", but i doubt anyone here would choose to go to a deadco show over PLQ just because the deadco show is easier to get to and the tickets are cheaper. same idea behind autos vs normal cannabis IMO. if you really like high quality cannabis and have the ability to do so, you should grow normal cannabis, just like if you have the time/money to do so, you should choose a more difficult/expensive PLQ show over an easy and cheap deadco show.

however, some people simply do not have the time, space, or climate to shepherd a normal cannabis strain thru its full growing season. maybe they want a greenhouse crop but cant deal with supplemental lighting and/or blackout tarps. maybe they live in an area where the climate is not hospitable to cannabis during the beginning and/or end of a normal growing season. there are lots of great reasons for a personal grower to run autos, but IMO the quality of the buds themselves is NOT one of those reasons.

avoid autos if possible. if thats not possible, go with mephisto.

FWIW that ILGM site looks like a terrible source for cannabis seeds. seems very similar to the current state of low quality amsterdam seed banks, which despite once being held in high regard, are now known as some of the worst, lowest quality sources for seeds available. IME you want to stick with popular US based seedbanks that sell branded seeds from reputable seed companies. no company that makes/outsources the huge variety of unbranded seeds shown on that site has the ability or desire to seriously control quality, pedigree or reliability. most groups like that just get popular cuts from whoever the fuck without confirming lineage at all, and then they cross it to itself or cross it to some big yielding, super reliable garbage commercial weed strain. if you want serious, high quality seeds where the breeder has done the work to trace the lineage of the cuts they receive, and has actually spent huge amounts of time selecting for quality, try humbolt csi or 707 seedbank. both of those dudes are as good as it gets when it comes to breeding and have been deeply involved in some of the biggest strain stories in the US. and they are heads to boot!

when looking for seedbanks, its a good rule of thumb to simply discount any sites that look/operate like ILGM and to only consider sites that look/operate more like seedsherenow or oregon elite. unless you are deeply plugged into the world of cannabis genetics and are looking for something very specific, avoid "store brand" seeds at all costs. the reliability of a seedbank should only be measured in terms of whether or not they deliver the products you ordered and that those products are genuine. the quality and viability of the seeds themselves are the responsibility of the breeder, and breeders who are good at their work will not hide behind white labels.

Memphisto seeds are good. some folks situations will only allow for very short growing windows within which to crank out a whole year's supply for themselves, with little room for experimentation or error. In this case, feminized autos are really the only path forward for these folks. If I were in these shoes, memphisto genetics are the only seed I would consider, based on experience and observation.

CSI Humboldt seeds are very high quality with high germination rates. His other (regular) seed line, pirates of the emerald triangle - same quality. On that site you are buying directly from the breeder, which for several reasons (freshness and price primarily) is preferable to buying seeds from any middleman.

shn, Neptune, and oes are all brokers fwiw

whenever possible, you should make an effort to get seeds directly from the breeder. Unsure if memphisto sells direct

25 bucks a seed? Really?

IME for most good breeders this requires a level of integration into the cannabis community that most people are not able to achieve, and sites like shn are the only option for most folks if they want gear from specific breeders. hell, even though i do have personal connections for some breeders and a huge amount of experience in the industry, i still have to use sites like SHN if i want gear from breeders who are to far removed from my social circle.

25 bucks a seed? Really?

where are you seeing this? 25 a seed is high, but not as high as it gets. average price for high quality branded gear is $10 a seed, but prices can get up to $50 per seed, occasionally even more. these seeds are not aimed at personal growers. if you have a market that will pay top dollar for the newest, hottest or rarest strains, $500 for a 10 pack is a doable cost to have the right genetics. by the time you fill a few rooms with whatever strain you had to pay out the ass for, youre more than making up for it via increased demand and increased cost per pound. personally i avoid these seeds regardless simply because i feel like that kind of price is simply to much to pay for the services rendered by the breeder, but if that strain is going to grow you hundreds and hundreds of pounds that you will easily be able to sell for top dollar, theres lots of growers willing to pay those prices, and there are for sure many brokers who will pay alot of money per pound for whatever strain people are rapping about this year or whatever. you will always be able to find cannabis that is just as high quality in the $10 per seed range, but when the difference per pound is hundreds of dollars and youre growing and selling 200, 300, 500 pounds over the course of the year...thats alot of extra money at the end of the day.

for personal growers, if there is some strain you want at those prices, just wait a couple years. prices from the original breeder will often come down, and if they dont, other breeders will offer crosses and inbred lines if the strain is good enough to maintain popularity for a couple years.

^^^25 bucks a seed? Really?^^

Ha, that's nothing.  Take a look at this below:  And they are out of stock.

This is beyond ridiculous if dude managed to sell even ONE set:

https://geneticdesigner.io/product/high-school-sweetheart/

fucking gage green group, holy shit.

i dont remember their whole story and all the drama, but apparently they have some connection to the actual originator of girl scout cookies - not the cookies jokers who currently lay claim to the strain like jigga and berner, but the actual, original source of cookies, which is, predictably, some old hippie dude named george who apparently no longer grows and currently runs a crystal shop in willits.

this guy and his original cherry pie kush is a bit of a legend among those who are really deep into cannabis breeding, so anything associated with him or a legit cherry pie kush cut will fetch a huge price, and on top of that, gage green sells almost all their gear for extremely high prices after gaining huge popularity for creating the mendo breath strain, so thats where the insane price comes from.

afaik there is pretty extreme debate over how legit these guys are and if their strain lineage stories really check out, but i dont remember the details, and apparently enough people are willing to trust them or their seeds wouldnt be thousands of dollars per pack. it looks like the seeds are sold out, which does not surprise me at all. most people have no idea how much money norcal wooks will spend on stuff like seeds, crystals, handmade jewlery, art glass and visonary art. its totally insane. many of these folks are using super high value hippie collectibles to obfuscate profits from growing/selling drugs. some of those dirty wooks passed out from gas in the lot that you just cant imagine existing in normal society have hundreds of thousands of dollars wrapped up in stuff like expensive/rare cannabis seeds and insanely expensive bongs.

the sun has only been out 2 partial days in the last 4 mos....

i put 1 plant out memorial day. has a touch of the powerdery already...its basically light drizzle every night/mornring.

this is my favorite product for pm, but at the end of the day nothing is consistently effective vs an existing infestation. i try to keep a visible film of this product on the leaves at all times, from a very young age/small plant size.

blowin my mind daylight

In a good way

Thanks

thanks daylight, and the bt product you recommended last year was definitely an improvement. peace

first rule of thumb when buying pest/disease control products - NEVER buy products specifically made for cannabis that are sold in hydro stores. if it has a cartoon on a label, its total garbage. get actual ag products that actual farmers use. this is another favorite of mine for general bug control - https://www.certisbio.com/products/insecticidal-soap/des-x

Bump for me

Bu(mp)d for Tim:
