Barbie

My first movie in a theater in a long time. Totally enjoyed it.

Of course I had read about the right wing haters and hysterical moms who left the theater in horror with their kids.

After watching the film I had a difficult time understanding  why this film would be offensive or even inappropriate for kids. Sure there's some double entendres and kids might be bored because they miss the PG jokes, but certainly nothing that warrants the faux outrage.

Plot was a bit convoluted and feel like it took itself a little too serious at times, but otherwise very well done and a laugh a minute.  And any movie Ted Cruz dismisses as "communist propaganda" can't be that bad.

Will it be long before some S&M kink club brings in a few tanks of nitrous for a Barbie Wire Whipping Party?

Gold.

It's always a palm slap to the forehead when the christian right is afraid of a movie or anything else inanimate, except for their precious high powered firearms.

I must've blinked and missed that 'pro communist' map that got the right all bent out of shape. And Ken embracing all the toxic masculinity without guns was an interesting twist. I don't recall anything about guns in the movie. Hmm.

Brewski beers and horses is about as far as this film was willing to go with the Patriarchy.
