Barre Chord song suggestions please

Forums:

I need to practice barre chords, so any suggestions would be great. Thnx  zone

You can play just about any triad chord as a barre chord.

Lay Lady Lay

The end of Stairway to Heaven ( Am>G>F)

The E Minor and A Minor in the open position must be about the simplest to barre up the fretboard. Almost as easy would be E Major and A Major.

If you get those down, that's a good starting point and the basics for bar-band tunes.

All along the watchtower,  Louie Louie,  Good Lovin, Walk Away (james gang), Sugar Magnolia / SSDay dream, most Rolling Stones, Kinks, and similar old rock ripe with barre chord classics.  Pretty much all those open string folk chords can be played as barre chords...   learn the different folk chords as barres, and the corresponding scales, intervals, and modes, and you'll be playing in chords in Bars.

Fire on the Mountain

Franklins Tower

The Who - Can't Explain

Anything by Chuck Berry.

a, then b, then c.... DO NOT MOVE ONTO d....... rather...... head back to a.

Speaking of barre chords, Tull's Teacher is a good song to learn.  Simple pattern, playing it right is the challenge.

Watchtower

Bm > A >G

Summertime Blues...in F.

Looks Like Rain is actually a great barre chord workout. Good opportunity to learn some weird Bobby chords.

Joe Walsh - Turn to Stone, the fun part is just Am>G>F, F>G>Am
