I came upon this SF Chronicle add from 1990.
Good times with the GD and very good Jerry shows as I remember, and I was at that Oakland Aerosmith show and one of those Todd shows too I believe.
Better times?
For me that was a year of change and major growth. Better times? In many ways yes, in other ways no way, but good times for sure.

I never saw Aerosmith at the Cow Palace but I wish I had, that place was built for them!
Must have been another time.
And BTW, Aerosmith doesn't suck. Certainly not in those days.
