I guess I'm not a liberal.

Hella liberal

awareness and empathy are actually both pretty easy

except for people who insist they aren't

and that's it in a nutshell

Not as easy as being a staunch conservative and being all pissed off. "I'm a taxpayer!"

Don't worry about that word salad, concentrate on the clear and present danger to constitutional democracy.

I was just saying to someone a few months ago that what the Democrats lack is the kind of focus that Republicans have. The Republican party is primarily focused on abortion, guns, low taxes, and favorable conditions for business, and it's been that way for quite some time now, while the Democrats want to save the world.

The Democrats need to simplify what they stand for, and ask themselves some tough questions, like "Was it wise to fight for issues like which bathroom trans people should use right about the time Donald Trump's first presidential campaign was getting underway?"

Agreed Mike.

We live in a sound bite world. People don't give shit about facts, nuance, or long-term ramifications. Reps have mastered the art of being stupid and playing to the stupid. Democrats have words that people don't care about or understand.

It didn't start with Trump. I vividly remember it coming to light in one of the Gore/W debates. Every answer, W said nothing of importance but repeated the same inane soundbites over and over in his 2 minutes. Gore talked on and on, trying to explain complicated matters.

Give the people what they want.

spaces and punctuation should be your friends

maybe try again with the thing in ALLCAPS at least?

Agreed, BK, and that's what I was saying about the Republicans having their message dialed in very tight for several decades now. The Dems need to forego the wish list word cloud of every issue under the sun, pick a handful of key issues, and hammer away at those in a similar way.

> spaces and punctuation should be your friends

I'd normally agree with you, Jilly, but I think the bleeding together and resulting lack of clarity is kind of the point in this instance.

Dunno if I consider myself a liberal, but I'm somewhere mid-left.

And it is hard, 'cause we always seem to be losing lately.

That's because the other side always cheats, because they believe that the end justifies the means.

For them, it;s a feature not a bug.

What's worse? Biden's age or the GOP taking your bodily autonomy away?

Just because you don't here it ad nauseam like the repug blow horn or where you choose to get your news...

You can bet your ass that both women and men know what's on the ballot

and if you don't?

You're a willfully ignorant son of a bitch
