Thanks for set listing, Zooey!

I'm not a real big fan of SCI, but does Nershi play electric much? Last night when he strapped one on for Paranoid was the first time I've seen him play electric.

Cool, Rivertrance my favorite SCI song!

Oops. Never mind.

Thanks for that killer link, Dise. I've shared it with a few Utah folks, who are digging it.

One person replied....  "I was there! This was one of the best nights of music I’ve ever experienced! Electric BS was something else! Super energetic evening!"

Given he's one of the most experience music heads I know, (bluegrass, GD shows galore, SCI, and everything else) I'd have to say it must've been one special evening at Red Rocks. Sounds like one for the ages.

Hear that.

You bet, Slick! I'm glad your friend is digging it heart

GWS Phil, don't smoke the peels!
Haha noodles! It sure was convenient timing for Phil to get sick on Billy's tour break. Looked like Billy had a blast as well as SCI heart I hope Phil's feeling better soon.

ripping Cold Rain & Snow...

Saw all the Dillon and RR shows and would probably rate Sunday's show as #3 out of 5;  the first being the second night of Dillon and 2nd as Friday at Red Rocks (I thought this show was especially "heavy handed" (in a Howard-esq sort of way, but it was played exceptionally well for what it was [even if Kyle almost went into seizures]).

I was really bummed Phil was not able to make it, as I was looking forward to seeing how he'd engage with the rest of Cheese on both GD tunes and jams.  Hope he's doing OK!

Having said that, I thought William Apostol was about as good of a fill-in as could be asked for; however, I thought things seemed to get a bit "out of control" at times with him running roughshod on electric.   Would've preferred more acoustic from him.  The first set was excellent as everyone was reigned in - and mostly on the same page - on acoustic.  The GD set was generally very good and had some excellent high points, but I thought everyone was "charging too hard" and didn't always allow the music to play the band ... which carried over into the third set.  Black Clouds and Texas are two tunes that are geared for Apostol as "fusion" type arrangments that lend themselves well to acoustic / electric evolution throughout the songs.    Substitute a Restless Wind or Colorado Bluebird Sky for CWAD, Rivertrance, or Paranoid and I think the scales would've tipped into a more favorable light for me.  It's not that I didn't dig what was played and definitely had a great time, but I just thought there was more potential to play to the strengths of everyone with better song selection / arrangments.

Drums are good.
