Can't wait for Woodstock and Ionia! Two weekends yeah Summer times  gonna come and go

Good to see Billy back in the saddle and it was cool that he broke out the new song "Burn the Other End" at the show.   They stopped it short, but I assume it will become a vehicle for deep dark jams before too long.   And he got Alex to sing along with the chorus.

If you haven't seen the video for the song, it's pretty dark and trippy:

Wow, I thought it was a trippy video right from the beginning, and it is, but then the old man with the white beard has the mushroom potion... and it gets weirder and tripper.  This will be great to see live with extended jams!

Watched last nights webcast from Freak Fair.  So good.  Got my copy of So Much For Goodbyes delivered yesterday, but didn't have time to listen to it before the show started.  But we had it on the couch just for the song titles as Billy played the whole album from start to finish during the first set.  Second set was on fire and Leftover Salmon set and sit ins we're fun.  Great party band.

30,000 freaks.  Billy's biggest crowd as the headliner.  So looking forward to tonight.

I'm really grateful for the video streams! My first Billy shows were in Michigan. I wish I could've made it out to Ionia for this homegrown celebration. Billy's fundraising for local schools and supporting the Ionia Bluegrass Fair and main street is a wonderful thing. Definitely shed some tears for his mother Debra, it was crystal clear the show was a reflection of Bill's love for her and I hope it was everything his heart needed. The tribute to Dolly Parton was sweet and fitting as well. I'm anticipating some of Debra's favorite covers and more face-melting tonight. Get you FREAK on, y'all!

I had Nugs on, but I wasn't very attentive during the first set. I kept telling myself, "It seems like a lot of new tunes" :D How many were first-timers live?

During the second set, I was paying more attention for the most part. I sure like when he mixes it up one way or the other.

Sure hope he does some outdoor shows in the NW next year.

>>>>outdoor shows in NW next year

Time is right for the Gorge.  Saw him there at Willie Fest a couple years ago and no doubt he can fill the place these days.

Astro, I think only three songs from the new album have been played live before last night's show. Burn The Other End, I'm One of Those and 10,000 miles from a friend. The rest of set one were FTP's

Ken - I working on that at this very moment. Shoot me your contact info, my email is in my profile.

Dise - That makes perfect sense regarding my experience last night. I have seen those three live but I kept telling myself with the other tunes,, "I don't know this one". Would you also please send me your contact info.

Paging Tommy for an in-person report!

This is not my nana but her granddaughter posted this on FB and it's too sweet not to repost

"Just want to thank everyone who was so sweet to my 83 year YOUNG Grandma. I was searching for her all night near the ADA section and the whole time she was at the RAILS in the PIT

She made it home safe & sound.

Forever a core memory."

I learned Grandma Donna is in the Michigan Hall of Fame for yodeling. She treated fans on the rail to her yodel stylings. Also, she nabbed the set list heart
