"Bob Dole is dead" . . .

Forums:

. . . is how I imagine Bob Dole would announce his death if he were able to.

Would someone please cancel his appointments?

LOL  You weren't far off, Bluest. here's the Huff Po headline.

Bob Dole.JPG

Geez, kinda cold Huff Po. No respect for a long-serving American, a wounded veteran, and a man who didn't claim election fraud when he lost? Didn't care for his policies, but geez.

I saw it Breaking just as Meet The Press was ending and NBC actually did a very nice tribute with footage and stories....as if they may have had it all 'ready to go'.

Huge Mountains and Massive Valleys between our policy outlooks but RIP Bob.

He certainly was not a dickhead like too many in the current GOP crop.

Dude's been less lifelike than a Disney animatronic figure for decades. So they're saying he's dead now? Whatever.

Damn, I loved his Pineapples.

>>>>Dude's been less lifelike than a Disney animatronic figure for decades.

Elizabeth Dole might disagree.  Dude was the pitchman for Viagra.

Somewhere between now and his funeral, there will be an editorial cartoon depicting Dole telling St. Peter, "Bob Dole is here."

A few variations, probably.

"...and he has a HARD-ON!"

"No, not at all, He's outside looking in."

I didn't know he was still around.

Ultimately it's a sad day, and IMO it's more than a bit of a shame that we marginalize or make fun of this guy today. Many may not have agreed with his politics, and maybe he was a "bad" conservative guy or whatever, but at least he was a grown & professional man.

In our modern times the likes of Donald fucking Trump rule the party that Bob Dole was the leader of once upon a time, and that slimy little low-life weevil Trump is far more popular than Dole ever was.

And that's a sad thing.

We're descending folks.

Bob help accelerate descent

^^ dole full throated endorsed the orange fuck

but yeah, he's not like him so...

really?

His crippled right arm was a lifelong reminder of the price he and his generation paid for the defense of the United States.

Throughout his long public career, he championed veterans’ issues and was a driving force behind construction of the World War II Memorial, where he spent his final years greeting fellow veterans.

RIP Bob - Thanks for your service to the country especially looking out for our Veterans

That's all fine and well but why did he and so many other "patriotic" GOP'rs stand idle as dumph-fuck tried so hard to destroy their party and country for personal gain? No homeland defense there I'd say

> We're descending folks.

Or we're reverting to the pre-Trump version of distrust of all things Republican.

I met Bob Dole and Shook hands,  got Photos of the event,  even if I am not a huge fan.

We met in a South Kansas Brewpub,  and bribed his security deetail with Cookies and Muffins for a Photo Op.

My garb was a Cheap Goodwill Suit, so I looked like a normal Dole supporter.

We could not get BD to drink A Brewpub Beer on Camera.  We tried.  Anyway he did not flip out over me and was pleasant enough.

I chatted with him and got Slides in a Photo - Op.

He had a Cadillac Escalade.
Circa 1998.

the pineapple line made me chortle out loud

he was the john mccain of bob doles
