Bob Dylan Budokan 1978

Forums:

I love 78 Dylan. The multitrack Budokan material is some of the most dynamic sounding material in his entire history. While I find myself listening often to other shows on the tour(Paris, Charlotte...) it's hard to deny the beauty of his Japan performances, he was totally on point...the arrangements work, and controversial as it was, he really rose to his opportunity here and the result really works  looking forward to official complete set for this.

One of his more underrated tours. Really fine crafted arrangements.

It's also another pinnacle example of his shape shifting. He goes from the Rolling Thunder circus into this slicker Budokan era tour and then immediately into the Jesus/Gospel phase. Just gliding from one dimension to the next.

And excelling at them all imho

Bob Dylan will release a new box set titled 'The Complete Budokan 1978' Nov. 17
